A solar cell system includes a solar cell that includes a first electrode, a second electrode that faces the first electrode, and a light absorbing layer that is located between the first electrode and the second electrode, and converts light into charges; a power supply that applies voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode; and a voltage controller. The light absorbing layer contains a compound having a perovskite crystal structure represented by AMXwhere A represents a monovalent cation, M represents a divalent cation, and X represents a halogen anion. The voltage controller controls the voltage of the power supply so that during a first period of non-power generation, an electric current of 1 &#x3bc;A/cmor more and 100 &#x3bc;A/cmor less flows in the light absorbing layer in a direction opposite to a direction in which an electric current flows during power generation.

An object of the present invention is to provide a carbon dioxide adsorption and release device, which has high adsorptivity, and also consumes low energy upon adsorption and desorption. The carbon dioxide adsorption and release device is characterized by including a pair of electrodes (electrodeand electrode) provided opposite to each other; an electrolytefilled between the respective electrodesandof the pair of electrodes; and a porous bodyprovided on the electrodeof the pair of electrodes, wherein the electrolyteabsorbs carbon dioxide thereby dissolving the carbon dioxide therein, and thus enabling formation of carbonic acid ions or hydrogen carbonate ions; and the carbonic acid ions or hydrogen carbonate ions are electrostatically adsorbed on a surface of the porous bodywhen a forward voltage is applied to the pair of electrodes by the porous body, and the carbonic acid ions or hydrogen carbonate ions are electrostatically released from a surface of the porous bodywhen a backward voltage is applied to the pair of electrodes.

A photoelectric conversion element () according to the present disclosure includes: a photoanode (); a counter electrode (); a solid compound layer () disposed between the photoanode () and the counter electrode (); a charge storage electrode () disposed at an interspace from the counter electrode (); and an electrolyte medium () being contained in the solid compound layer () and filling the interspace.

The present invention provides an electrode composite that has a reaction interface with a large area and can constitute a photoelectric element having high electron transport properties between the reaction interface and the electrode. The electrode composite of the present invention includes a first electrode and a conductive particle layer stacked on the first electrode. The conductive particle layer includes conductive particles containing acicular particles. The conductive particle layer has a three-dimensional porous network structure that is formed by the interconnection of the conductive particles. The three-dimensional network structure is joined to the first electrode. The conductive particle layer contains pores having a pore size of 50 nm or more in a total volume of 50% or more based on the volume of all pores in the conductive particle layer.

The photoelectric element includes a first electrode, a second electrode, an electron transport layerand a hole transport layerinterposed between the first electrodeand the second electrode, an electrolyte solution, and a sensitizing dye. The electron transport layerincludes an organic compound having an oxidation-reduction site capable of repeated oxidation-reduction. The electrolyte solution serves to stabilize a reduction state of the oxidation-reduction site. The organic compound and the electrolyte solution form a gel layer. The sensitizing dye is provided in contact with the electron transport layer. The hole transport layercontains a charge transporter serving to reduce an oxidized form of the sensitizing dye and having a number average molecular weight of 2,000 or more and 100,000 or less.

Photoelectric element

A photoelectric element provided with an electron transport layer having excellent electron transport property and sufficiently wide reaction interface, and that has excellent conversion efficiency. The photoelectric element has an electron transport layerand a hole transport layersandwiched between a pair of electrodesand. The electron transport layeris formed of an organic compound having a redox moiety capable of being oxidized and reduced repeatedly. The organic compound contains an electrolyte solution which stabilizes the reduced state of the redox moiety, and forms a gel layercontaining a sensitizing dye. Thus, the organic compound and the electrolyte solution in the electron transport layerconstitute the gel layer, while at the same time, the sensitizing dye is present within the gel layer, whereby the reaction interface of the organic compound is enlarged, improving the conversion efficiency and the electron hand-over efficiency from the sensitizing dye to the organic compound in the electron transport layer, as a result of which the electron transport efficiency is improved.
