Provided is free cutting alloy excellent in machinability, preserving various characteristics as alloy. The free cutting alloy contains: one or more of Ti and Zr as a metal element component; and C being an indispensable element as a bonding component with the metal element component, wherein a (Ti,Zr) based compound including one or more of S, Se and Te is formed in a matrix metal phase. The free cutting alloy is more excellent in machinability, preserving various characteristics as alloy at similar levels to a conventional case. The effect is especially conspicuous, for example, when a compound expressed in a chemical form of (Ti,Zr)C(S,Se,Te)as the (Ti,Zr) based compound is formed at least in a dispersed state in the alloy structure.

Free cutting alloy

A low thermal expansion Ni-base superalloy contains, by weight % (hereinafter the same as long as not particularly defined) C: 0.15% or less; Si: 1% or less; Mn: 1% or less; Cr: 5 to 20%; at least one of Mo, W and Re of Mo+&#xbd;(W+Re) of 17 (exclusive) to 25%; Al: 0.2 to 2%; Ti: 0.5 to 4.5%; Fe of 10% or less; at least one of B: 0.02% and Zr: 0.2% or less; a remainder of Ni and inevitable impurities; wherein the atomic % of Al+Ti is 2.5 to 7.0.

Low thermal expansion Ni-base superalloy

The present invention relates to a Ni base alloy having sufficient strength at high temperatures and high corrosion resistance at high temperatures in a high-temperature composite corrosive environment in which chlorination or sulfidation occurs simultaneously with high-temperature oxidation, without excessive cooling or surface protection. According to the present invention, a Ni base alloy having high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance includes Cr in a range of from 25 to 40 weight %, Al in a range of from 1.5 to 2.5 weight %, C in a range of from 0.1 to 0.5 weight %, W of 15 weight % or less, Mn of 2.0 weight % or less, Si in a range of from 0.3 to 6 weight %, Fe of 5% or less, and Ni of rest except inevitable impurities. When strength at high temperatures is allowed to be small, W is in a range of from 0 to 8%, and Si is in a range of from 0.3 to 1% or from 1 to 6%. In order to enhance strength at high temperatures, W is in a range of from 8 to 15, and Si is in a range of from 0.3 to 1% or from 1 to 6%.

Nickel-based heat-resistant alloy

Disclosed are stainless steel parts, particularly, parts of electronic apparatus, with which troubles caused by so-called &ldquo;sulfide gas&rdquo; mainly of H S must be avoided. Release of the sulfide gas from the parts is effectively suppressed. The parts have high hardness and corrosion resistance, and can be produced with high finishing accuracy. The stainless steel parts are produced by processing a ferritic or a martensitic stainless steel of a specific alloy composition by forging and/or machining to the shape of the part followed by quenching and tempering, or quenching and tempering followed by machining to the shape of the part, and applying a solution of oxidative acid to the surface of the part so as to dissolve and remove sulfides existing on the surface of the part.

Stainless steel parts with suppressed release of sulfide gas and method of producing

Disclosed is an austenitic stainless cast steel which has such a good heat resistance as can be used at a high temperature higher than 950&deg; C. and a good machinability. The stainless cast steel consists essentially of, by weight %, C: 0.2-0.4%, Si: 0.5-2.0%, Mn: 0.5-2.0%, P: up to 0.10%, S: 0.04-0.2%, Ni: 8.0-42.0%, Cr: 15.0-28.0%, W: 0.5-7.0%, Nb: 0.5-2.0%, Al: up to 0.02%, Ti: up to 0.05%, N: up to 0.15%, Se: 0.001-0.50% and the balance of Fe and inevitable impurities.

Stainless cast steel having good heat resistance and good machinability

A steel for shaft, which has corrosion resistance, machinability, and straightness at substantially the same levels as those of free cutting steel 12L14 plated with Ni, which has conventionally been used as a steel for shaft, and need not be plated on its surfaces, thus making it possible to reduce the production cost therefor, and which comprises: 0.05% by mass or less of C; 0.15% by mass or less of Si; 0.40% by mass or less of Mn; 6.0 to 10.0% by mass of Cr; 0.10% by mass or less of S; 0.30 to 0.80% by mass of Ni; 0.10 to 0.30% by mass of Pb; 0.001 to 0.10% by mass of N; and the balance of Fe and an unavoidable impurity; and a steel shaft composed of said steel.

Steel for shaft

A titanium alloy having improved heat resistance in addition to the inherent properties of lightness and corrosion resistance. The alloy consists essentially of, by weight %, Al: 5.0-7.0%, Sn: 3.0-5.0%, Zr: 2.5-6.0%, Mo: 2.0-4.0%, Si: 0.05-0.80%, C: 0.001-0.200%, O: 0.05-0.20%, optionally further one or two of Nb and Ta: 0.3-2.0%, and the balance of Ti and inevitable impurities. A method of producing parts from this alloy comprises subjecting the titanium alloy of the above described alloy composition to heat treatment at a temperature of &bgr;-region, combination of rapid cooling and slow cooling or combination of water quenching and annealing, hot processing in &agr;&plus;&bgr; region, solution treatment and aging treatment.

Titanium alloy having good heat resistance and method of producing parts therefrom

Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a diesel engine valve for intake and exhaust having good corrosion resistance and increased valve face strength, and therefore, of improved durability. A Ni-base heat resistant alloy of strong precipitation hardening type or an Fe-base heat resistant alloy of the same type is used as the material. The method comprises hot forging to prepare a blank form of the valve to be manufactured, solution treatment, cold processing to form the face part, and age-treating for increasing the hardness of the face part.

Improved parts of electronic apparatus made of ferritic free cutting steel, which enjoy high precision in size given by good machinability and free from trouble caused by corrosion of metal due to generation of sulfides. The material steel has an alloy composition consisting essentially of, by weight %, C: up to 0.1%, Si: up to 2.0%, Mn: up to 2.0%, Cr: 19-25% and S: 0.20-0.35% and the balance of Fe and impurities. The parts made by machining can be used without being passivated. The steel may contain, further to the above alloy components, one or more from the following groups: 1) Mo: up to 4.0%; 2) one or more of Pb: up to 0.4%, Bi: up to 0.3%, Te: up to 0.3%, Se: up to 0.4% and Ca: up to 0.3%; 3) one or both of B and Mg: 0.001-0.02%; 4) one or both of Cu and Ni: 0.1-4.0%; 5) one or more of Nb, Ta, Ti, V, W and Al: 0.01-0.50%; and 6) O: 0.01-0.04%.
