A motor operated valve includes a feed screw mechanism and a stopper mechanism. The feed screw mechanism includes a guiding part including an external thread portion on an outer surface thereof, and a guided part that is a cylindrical member constituting a rotation shaft of a rotor, and including an internal thread portion, which is engaged with the external thread portion, on an inner surface thereof. The stopper mechanism includes a stopper portion provided on the guided part, and a stopping face formed integrally with the guiding part. When a valve element is driven by the motor to move in a valve closing direction, the stopping face stops the stopper portion to restrict the movement of the rotor in the valve closing direction.

A control valve according to an embodiment includes a guide member of a cylindrical shape extending coaxially with a valve hole, a valve element of a bottomed cylindrical shape for opening and closing a valve section such that the valve element touches and leaves the valve hole, and a pressure-canceling structure for canceling out at least part of pressure acting on the valve element by introducing a working fluid into a back pressure chamber via a leak passage, the pressure-canceling structure including the back pressure chamber, surrounded by the valve element and the guide member, and the leak passage communicating between the valve hole and the back pressure chamber. A sliding portion and a spacing are formed in an overlapped portion which is a region overlapped by the valve element and the guide member. The sliding portion is connected circumferentially at least when the valve section is closed, and the proportion of the spacing occupied in the overlapped portion is larger than the proportion of the sliding portion occupied at the time when the valve section is open.

To provide an expansion valve having a low-pressure passage that is bent at right angles therein, which is reduced in untoward noise and noise of the flow of refrigerant generated when the refrigerant passes through the low-pressure passage. In an intersecting portion of a low-pressure passage, the axis of a port for introducing refrigerant returned from an evaporator, and the axis of a port for guiding out refrigerant having passed through a body block to a compressor are orthogonal to each other. A hole is formed in the body block in a direction of insertion of a shaft that transmits a driving force from a power element to a valve element, and a holder for holding the shaft. When holes coaxial with the ports, respectively, are formed by drills having the same diameter as that of the hole, the holes are formed in a manner such that the tip of one drill does not extend beyond the hole formed by the other drill, to make inner walls on an outer peripheral side along which refrigerant flows at an increased speed, smoothly continuous, without forming any recess or edge portion having a boundary portion with an angle equal to or smaller than a right angle.

A piezoelectrically driven print mechanism for a dot matrix printer includes a piezoelectric element to which is connected a movement amplification member and electrical drive means for causing expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric element along a first axis in response to the application of an electric potential. A printing pin is connected to the movement amplification member. The expansion or contraction of the piezoelectric element is converted into a much larger movement of the amplification member along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. This amplified movement is transferred to the printing pin. Several embodiments of the movement amplification member are disclosed.

Piezoelectrically driven printing mechanism for dot matrix printers

A dot matrix printer having a printer hammer bank carried on a frame to allow movement parallel to the platen. A balancing member is suspended from the head hammer bank by resilient springs and carries a motor for driving the head hammer bank in a reciprocating manner. A linkage further couples the head hammer bank and the balancing member so that the balancing member moves in a direction opposite to that of the head hammer bank.
