With an electric compressor including a rotational shaft, a compressor wheel disposed on the rotational shaft, and an electric motor for applying a rotational force to the rotational shaft including a rotor fixed to the rotational shaft, and a stator disposed around the rotor, for applying the rotational force to the rotor by an electromagnetic force, a vibration/noise reduction device includes a detector for detecting a frequency related to a vibration of the stator, and a signal generator for generating a vibration signal that has a frequency of a predetermined integral multiple of an electrical angle frequency, which is obtained from the frequency detected by the detector, and has a signal wave attenuating the vibration of the stator, and a vibrator for vibrating the electric compressor based on the vibration signal.

A bolt-tightened type coupling includes a pair of semi-circular arc-shaped coupling halves having base ends which are pivotably connected to one another, so that the coupling halves can be moved toward each other to a closed position and moved away from each other to an open position. The coupling halves have opposite, free ends providing with flanges, respectively, having bolt inserting holes, respectively. One of the bolt inserting holes has such a shape that a bolt fits tightly with the inner edges of the bolt inserting hole, so that the bolt can be held by the bolt inserting hole.

In a supercharged pressure control valve apparatus of an internal combustion engine, a housing of supercharger has first and second by-pass air paths; a valve sheet formed on an end of the second by-pass air path; a rubber diaphragm having thick sealing part of convex and concave sectional shape at its outer periphery; a valve disc fixed to the moving part of the diaphragm and opening closing the first and the second by-pass air paths responding to movement of the diaphragm; and a casing of the valve directly fixed on the housing by sandwiching the outer periphery of the diaphragm.

Supercharged pressure control valve apparatus

A turbocharging pressure controlling apparatus employing a diaphragm-type single acting air actuator includes a rod 33 to which is connected a control valve 13 for regulating the opening of a flow dividing hole 15 provided in an exhaust pipe 16 and which enlarges the degree of opening by a retracting motion, thereby reducing exhaust gas pressure for rotating a turbocharger that produces a turbocharging pressure and thus reducing the generation of turbocharging pressure. Through this arrangement the effect of operating directions of the rod upon the mounting position for the apparatus can be minimized. Therefore, the apparatus is not limited by the mounting position, as there is no effect thereon by the motion of the rod.

Turbocharging pressure controlling apparatus

A variable geometry radial turbine wherein a plurality of pivotable vanes are provided in the portion through which a gas is introduced into a turbine wheel which is disposed in a turbine housing. The pivotable vanes can be moved for the purpose of opening and closing a part of a gas introduction area whereby the gas flow rate is continuously changed.

Variable capacity radial flow turbine

A variable capacity radial flow turbine includes a turbine housing which incorporates a turbine wheel and which forms a working gas passageway that leads to the turbine wheel and that is divided into two parts. The working gas passageway is provided with a pivotable plate-like member, so that the flow rate of the working gas flowing into the turbine wheel can be continuously changed by shifting the position of this member and thus opening or closing part of a working gas intake.
