An engine with an inclined cylinder, including a horizontally-disposed crankshaft, and two balancer shafts arranged in parallel to the crankshaft. A drive gear for driving the balancer shafts is provided on the crankshaft, and driven gears respectively meshed with the drive gear are provided on the balancer shafts. The two balancer shafts are divided into areas on both sides of a center line of the cylinder and into upper and lower regions relative to an axis of the crankshaft, and axes of the balancer shafts are arranged so as to be placed within a range of a diameter of the drive gear.

A cooling apparatus of an engine includes a cooling fan, a fan housing, and a shroud guiding cooling air from the fan housing to the outer circumferential surface of an engine body portion. Further, a cooling air passage passing throughout in a cylinder head from one side surface of the cylinder head to the other side surface thereof is formed in the cylinder head, and a narrowed or throttle guide portion which guides the cooling air from the interior of the fan housing to an inlet opening of the one side surface of the cooling air passage is formed in the shroud.

A cylinder cooling apparatus for an air-cooled engine is equipped with a cooling fan provided on one end section of a crankshaft; a pair of pushrod insertion holes for air intake and exhaust valves formed in a cylinder outer circumferential wall section; a fan shroud for covering the cooling fan and for covering the cylinder outer circumferential wall section in which the pushrod insertion holes are formed; a cutout ventilating section formed in the cylinder outer circumferential wall section between the pair of pushrod insertion holes; and tunnel-shaped ventilating holes formed in the cylinder outer circumferential wall section between the pushrod insertion hole disposed on the side of the cooling fan and a cylinder bore and extending from the cylinder outer circumferential wall section on the side of the cooling fan to the cutout ventilating section.

Cylinder cooling apparatus for air-cooled engine

A balancer shaft of an engine includes a pair of journal portions, a first stage balance weight and a second stage balance weight. The first stage balance weight is formed between the journal portions and eccentrically arranged with respect to an axis. The second stage balance weight is formed on a center part of the first stage balance weight in the axial direction and projects outward from the first stage balance weight in a radial direction. The balancer shaft has a recess portion on the opposite side of the eccentricity direction.

Having a crankshaft and two balancer shafts

A speed governor is used with an engine having a crankshaft and a balancer shaft arranged substantially in parallel to the crankshaft, in which a drive gear provided in the crankshaft and a driven gear provided in the balancer shaft are meshed with each other so as to transmit mechanical power. The speed governor includes a plurality of flyweights pivotally supported on the driven gear of the balancer shaft by the plurality of support pins. The driven gear has a recess portion on an end surface thereof, and the support pins supporting the flyweights are arranged in the recess portion. Each of the support pins has two ends in a longitudinal direction and through holes are respectively located at the ends of the support pins.

An air cleaner for an internal combustion engine facilitates is made compact and maintenance work for cleaning or replacing the cleaner element of the same. An air cleaner case ( ) holding a cleaner element ( ) is a three-part structure essentially consisting of a body ( ) having opposite open ends and provided with an air inlet ( ), a bottom wall ( ) detachably joined to one of the opposite open ends of the body ( ) and connected to the air intake passage of the carburetor ( ), and a cover ( ) detachably joined to the other open end of the body ( ). Air cleaner for internal combustion engine

A water-cooled V-type engine includes: a crankcase in which a crankshaft is rotatably disposed; two cylinders disposed on the crankcase so as to form V-shape; a starter disposed below one of the two cylinders; and a cooling system for cooling the engine with a cooling water. The cooling system includes: a radiator for cooling the cooling water; water jackets disposed on the two cylinders; and a thermostat disposed in a supply line having one end connected to a water outlet formed in a lower end part of the radiator and the other end connected to inlets of the water jackets. The thermostat is disposed below the other of the two cylinders. The engine can be formed in compact construction and the piping of the cooling system can be simplified since the starter and the thermostat are disposed below the tilted cylinders, respectively.

Water-cooled V-type engine with two cylinders

A two-cylinder overhead-valve V-engine has two cylinders arranged so as to form a V-bank (S). Each cylinder is provided with push rods ( ) for operating an intake valve rocker arm ( ) and an exhaust valve rocker arm ( ). The push rods ( ) of each cylinder extend gradually away from each other toward a valve rocker arm chamber. An air intake passage is formed between the push rods ( ) in the cylinder head ( ) of each cylinder. An air intake port ( ) is formed in the cylinder head ( ) so as to open into the V-bank (S).
