A method for treating liver dysfunction includes administering at least one member selected from a chitin oligosaccharide, a chitosan oligosaccharide and salts thereof, in an effective amount. As the chitin oligosaccharide, preferred is an oligosaccharide having a degree of polymerization of from 2 to 7. As the chitosan oligosaccharide, preferred is an oligosaccharide having a degree of polymerization of from 2 to 8. As the method for administration, it is preferred to add these oligosaccharides to foods, medicines or feeds, and to orally ingest them. However, when used as medicines, administration methods such as intravenous injection and muscular injection may be used.

Method for treating liver dysfunction

A method for treating and improving diabetes and liver dysfunction, can be obtained by administering at least one selected from a chitin oligosaccharide, a chitosan oligosaccharide and salts thereof, in an effective amount. Method for treating and improving diabetes

A washing apparatus is compact as well as easy to handle, with which a user can wash down dirt effectively in a short time. Washing liquid supplied from the washing liquid supplying means is made in the form of high-speed jet liquid by a high-speed jet stream spouting means. The high-speed jet liquid is spouted from the aperture of the first cover to wash down dirt by the impact given by the high-speed jet liquid. A washing object is dewatered by gas spouted from the aperture by a blowing means. The high-speed jet stream spouting means is comprised of a rotating object having a plurality of radial shape flow paths extending from a center portion to a circumference of the rotating object, and a liquid supplying portion for supplying washing liquid to a central portion of the radial shape flow paths. A rotating means rotates the rotating object so that washing liquid supplied in the radial shape flow paths is accelerated in the direction of a circumference as well as a radius of the rotating object by rotation. The accelerated washing liquid is spouted from an aperture in the form of high-speed jet liquid.

Washing apparatus

A fuel injection system permits the use of hydraulic control oil as a pressure transmitting medium and enables reliable valve opening and closing performance regardless of operating environment. The housing of the fuel injection system is constituted by a valve main body and a cylinder main body, the flowing channel of fuel being airtightly separated from a pressure control chamber. The cylinder main body incorporates a piezoelectric element, which changes the fluid pressure of the pressure transmitting medium in the pressure control chamber, a piston, and a cylinder having an inflow/outflow hole. A needle valve is installed, penetrating the cylinder main body so that the distal end thereof is located in a needle guide cavity of the valve main body and the other end thereof is located in the cylinder.

Fuel injection system

An air conditioning system of the present invention has a refrigerant circuit including a compressor, an oil separator, a condenser, a expansion device, an evaporator, a first accumulator, and a second accumulator which are connected in order by piping, said evaporator, said first accumulator, said second accumulator, and said compressor being connected in series; a first oil return bypass for connecting said oil separator and a connection pipe between said first and second accumulators; and a second oil return bypass for connecting said first accumulator and a connection pipe between said second accumulator and said compressor.

Air conditioning system, and accumulator therefor and manufacturing

In a Vuilleumier heat pump, hot and cold displacers are supported by coil springs in respective buffer chambers. Further, there are respectively provided forced vibration systems of the hot and cold displacers using, as exciting force, force applied to respective displacer rods due to a difference between a pressure fluctuation of a working gas in an inner working space and a pressure in the buffer chambers. A linear motor is also provided to drive the hot displacer so as to reciprocate. It is thereby possible to provide the Vuilleumier heat pump in which a mechanism for driving the hot and cold displacers can have a small-sized and simplified structure, and no restriction is imposed on an arrangement of hot and cold cylinders.

Vuilleumier heat pump

In a vibration-reducing apparatus for a direct-acting type stirling engine, a change of pressure caused by the reciprocal movement of a displacer is applied to a power piston to produce a mechanical force, and the mechanical force is converted into an electric power by a direct-acting type electric generator which is directly connected to the power piston so as to effect reciprocating movements with the power piston. Such apparatus comprises a vibration-controlling actuator fixed to a cylinder to produce a vibration-controlling force in response to a drive-controlling signal given by the outside thereof, a detector for detecting an unbalanced movement by a force of inertia in the reciprocating movements of a direct-driving part consisting of the power piston and the direct-acting type electric generator, and a control circuit for receiving a detection signal from the detector to control the vibration-controlling actuator so that the vibration-controlling force of the vibration-controlling actuator cancels the unbalanced movement by the force of inertia caused by the reciprocating movements of the direct driving part.

Vibration-reducing apparatus

A seal mechanism for a Stirling engine has an upper and lower piston ring mounted on a displacer piston with a space therebetween and at least one piston ring mounted on a power piston. The seals produced by the piston rings of the displacer piston are given directionality in opposite directions so that the pressure within the space between the upper and lower piston rings is always higher or lower than the pressure within the expansion space and the compression space of the engine. In a preferred embodiment, the displacer piston rings each comprise two loosely-fitting outer rings which surround an inner ring. Air vents are formed in one surface of each of the inner rings between the center and the outer surface of the inner ring. The inner rings of the upper and lower piston rings are oriented so that the air vents face in opposite directions. Means for imparting directionality in the same direction to the seals produced by the power piston rings may also be provided.

Seal mechanism for a Stirling engine

An apparatus for preventing lubricating oil from rising to the working spaces of a Stirling engine has a first and a second oil-absorbing member disposed within a cylindrical member in which a rod reciprocates. The first oil-absorbing member is secured to the rod with its outer periphery in sliding contact with the inner wall of the cylindrical member, and the second oil-absorbing member is secured to the cylindrical member with its inner periphery in sliding contact with the rod. A first baffle plate having a hole which is larger than the rod is secured to the cylindrical member immediately below and in intimate contact with the second oil-absorbing member. The first baffle plate makes the flow speed of gas through the second oil-absorbing member higher from above to below than from below to above. As a result, oil is continually blown downwards by a blast of accelerated gas and is returned to the crankcase of the engine.

Apparatus for preventing the rise of oil in a stirling engine

A heat exchanger for a Stirling engine has a domed cylinder which serves as a high-temperature cylinder and a regenerator housing. The domed cylinder has a smoothly-changing cross-sectional shape so that stress concentrations will not develop therein. A thin inner liner which is inserted into the domed cylinder divides the inside of the domed cylinder into an expansion space and a regenerator space. A cylindrical regenerator is coaxially disposed inside the regenerator space. A cylindrical cooler is coaxially disposed below the regenerator with its inner surface forming the outer periphery of the compression space of the engine. The expansion space and the regenerator space are connected with one another by a plurality of heater tubes which are secured to the domed cylinder.

Heat exchanger for a Stirling engine

A seal means for use in the Stirling engine or the like, the seal means comprising: a cylinder including a piston reciprocating therein, and a buffer chamber located in one of the spaces produced at the both sides of the piston; a tank for storing the working fluid in the buffer chamber when the engine is at rest, the tank being located outside the cylinder; a means for introducing the working fluid in the tank into the buffer chamber under pressure when the engine is started; a crank shaft driven by means of the piston through a piston rod; a crankcase for accommodating the crank shaft; a plurality of packings for preventing the working fluid in the buffer chamber from entering the crankcase by flowing along the outer surface of the moving piston rod, the packings being arranged in contact with the outer surface of the piston rod; and a means for returning the working fluid leaked in the packings from the buffer chamber through the moving piston rod to the buffer chamber.

Seal means for a stirling engine or the like

A Stirling engine wherein a pressure variation is provided by a reciprocative movement of a displacer and is effected upon a power piston to obtain an output motive force. A first elastic film is provided at the displacer rod projecting into the crankcase so as to produce a first hermetically sealed space bounded by the expansion cylinder. A second elastic film is provided at the power piston rod so as to produce a second hermetically sealed space below the power piston. A pressure adjusting device equalizes the mean pressure of a reactive space, which includes the first and the second hermetically sealed spaces, and that of the crankcase.
