A video encoding apparatus includes: an encoder configured to encode video data by encoding key data that can be encoded without referring to other data in the video data, first dependent data that is encoded by referring to the key data, and second dependent data that is encoded by referring at least to the first dependent data; and a communication processor configured to transmit the encoded key data and the encoded first dependent data to a video decoding apparatus via a first communication path, and to transmit the encoded key data and the encoded second dependent data to the video decoding apparatus via a second communication path which is different from the first communication path.

In an image outputting system, a monitor simultaneously outputs a plurality of input image data. A management server stores a management table including display starting time regarding each piece of image data. A detecting unit detects an event which requests the monitor to display new image data. A determining unit determines whether or not new image data corresponding to the detected event can be output to the monitor based on the output management information regarding each piece of the image data stored in the storing unit. When it is determined that the new image data can be output to the monitor, the monitor outputs the new image data instead of previous image data determined based on the output management information among image data previously output.

Image outputting system and computer-readable medium for outputting image

A receiving unit receives a group of packets transmitted from a transmitting apparatus. A detecting unit detects a missing packet based on the received group of packets. A first output unit outputs data corresponding to the group of packets, irrespective of a result of the detection by the detecting unit. A transmitting unit transmits a retransmission request for the missing packet to the transmitting apparatus. A re-receiving unit receives the missing packet retransmitted from the transmitting apparatus in response to the retransmission request. A second output unit outputs data corresponding to the group of packets and the retransmitted packet.

Receiving apparatus and receiving method

A data transmission device for generating a plurality of compressed/encoded data of different bit rates from a single video signal, whereby unevenness in the amount of generated data can be easily reduced. A synchronizing signal detection section detects a synchronizing signal from the input video signal and supplies the detected signal to a timing control section. Compressing/encoding sections compress/encode the same video signal input thereto to generate data streams of different bit rates. The timing control section controls the compressing/encoding sections in accordance with the synchronizing signal detected by the synchronizing signal detection section such that timings for starting compression/encoding processes in the compressing/encoding sections are offset in units of frame. A multiplexing section generates fragmented packets carrying the individual data streams in accordance of amounts of data generated per unit time by the respective compressing/encoding sections, and sequentially transmits the fragmented packets at equal intervals within the unit time.

Data transmission device and method

An image, which is captured by a camera that a worker, etc., carries, is once stored in a ring buffer memory for storing image signals. The image is extracted from the ring buffer memory, and a quasi-moving image is generated. In a normal state, the quasi-moving image is displayed on a monitor of a center such as a control room, etc. via codecs on transmitting and receiving sides. When a user viewing the monitor makes a request to view a sharp image of a particular frame, or the high-quality motion of a subject while viewing the frames preceding or succeeding a particular frame, the image frame or frames are read from the buffer memory for storing image signals, and displayed on the monitor.

Image on-demand transmitting device and a method thereof

If a mobile terminal A requests a call connection to a fixed terminal B which can accommodate a plurality of channels, connection is established between the fixed terminal B and mobile terminal A via one channel. If another slave terminal C requests a call connection to the fixed terminal B, a channel different from one used by the mobile terminal A is used. When establishing the connection to the mobile terminal C, the fixed terminal B issues to the mobile terminal A an instruction to temporarily stop transmitting/receiving information. This allows the mobile terminal to wait for a new instruction while holding its communication session. In this way, the connection between the fixed terminal B and mobile terminal C is established. By shifting the transmission source from the fixed terminal B to the mobile terminal A or C, information obtained by the mobile terminal A or C can be transmitted to the fixed terminal B or other mobile terminals.
