A multistage stroke cylinder apparatus includes a main cylinder having a main piston and a main rod, an intermediate stop position setting mechanism for setting an intermediate stop position of the main piston, and a return position setting mechanism for setting a return position of the main piston. The intermediate stop position setting mechanism includes a stop position setting piston for coming in contact with the main piston, an auxiliary rod extending from the setting piston, a stopper mounted to a tip end of the auxiliary rod such that a mounting position of the stopper can be changed, and a contact portion a position of which can be changed by a contact position adjusting piston. The return position setting mechanism includes a return position setting piston and a position setting rod connected to the return position setting piston and having a tip end projecting behind the stop position setting piston.

Multistage stroke cylinder apparatus

A port block, which is provided with an outlet port with a first end communicating with a fluid supply passage and with a second end communicating with the outside, is movably carried on a guide rail which is provided with an opening for making communication between the outside and the fluid supply passage formed in the longitudinal direction. A seal belt, which is engaged with an opening of the guide rail, is curved downwardly at the inside of the port block by the aid of an inner port cover which is arranged at the inside of the guide rail and an outer port cover which is arranged at the outside of the guide rail.

A rodless cylinder has a linear guide which primarily bears loads F.sub.1, F.sub.2, F.sub.3 applied to a slide table and a table guide which secondarily bears those loads F.sub.1, F.sub.2, F.sub.3. The table guide has a centering function performed by being displaced a small distance in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis thereof when a load is applied to the slide table.

An article carrying apparatus for carrying an article by utilizing pressure of fluid such as compressed air, comprising a cylinder tube, a guide rail extending along the cylinder tube, a piston movable by an action of fluid pressure in said the cylinder tube, a moving piece for carrying an article supported in a manner that its movement is restricted in all directions except in an axial direction by the guide rail and movable in the axial direction along the guide rail and the cylinder tube, and a magnet coupling mounted on each of the moving piece and said piston, whereby the cylinder tube and the said guide rail are arranged as independent members and are connected each other by a connecting mechanism with a degree of freedom.

Article carrying apparatus

An article carrying apparatus for carrying an article by utilizing pressure of fluid such as compressed air, comprising a cylinder tube, a guide rail extending along the cylinder tube, a piston movable by an action of fluid pressure in the cylinder tube, a moving piece for carrying an article supported in such a manner that its movement is restricted in all directions except in an axial direction by the guide rail and movable in the axial direction along the guide rail and the cylinder tube, and a magnet coupling mounted on each of the moving piece and the piston, whereby the cylinder tube and the guide rail are arranged as independent members and are connected with each other by a connecting mechanism with a degree of freedom.

A rodless cylinder has adjusting mechanisms, each comprising a gear shaft rotatably mounted in a hole defined in an outer wall of a slide table and having a first gear on an end thereof, an adjustment shaft having a second gear on an end thereof which is held in mesh with the first gear at a predetermined angle, and a rod coupled to an opposite end of the adjustment shaft out of alignment with a central axis of adjustment shaft, with a guide roller being rotatably supported on the rod. When the gear shaft is turned by a screwdriver bit inserted in the hole, the adjustment shaft is turned to displace the guide rod for optimum rolling contact with a rail on a cylinder tube. The rolling contact between the guide rod and the rail can be adjusted from the outer side of the slide table.

Bearing adjusting mechanism for rodless cylinder

A shock load sensor has a movable member disposed in a casing and supported by a spring or resilient member, and displacement of the movable member responsive to an undue shock load applied thereto is converted into an electrical connection or disconnection. Such an electrical connection or disconnection is indicative of the application of a shock load in excess of the resiliency of the spring or resilient member to the movable member. The shock load sensor is of a simple structure, and may be used to reliably detect a reduction in the shock absorbing capability of a shock absorber, for example.

A rodless cylinder for feeding a workpiece has a cylinder having a cylinder tube with a bore defined therein and a piston reciprocally movably disposed in the bore. The cylinder tube has a slit defined therein and extending longitudinally therealong, the slit communicating between the bore and an exterior space. The slit is closed by a first seal member engaging the piston and a second seal member engaging a slide table. The piston has a separator separating the first and second seal members from each other. The cylinder tube has a pair of slanted first surfaces positioned one on each side of the slit. A pair of slide members is disposed on the slide table and have respective second surfaces engaging the first surfaces, respectively, for guiding the slide table when the piston reciprocally moves in the bore and bearing a load applied to the slide table. The rodless cylinder may additionally have a floating mechanism mounted on the slide table for allowing displacements substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the slide table is movable along the cylinder tube.

A rodless cylinder prevents leakage of fluid through a sealing belt and thus increases the freedom in the design of the edge of its seal lip. The rodless cylinder has a piston and a driven table reciprocating over a cylinder which are connected by a piston yoke through a slit extending along a cylinder bore. A sealing belt to seal the slit in the cylinder has a sealing lip which comes in contact with the wall of the cylinder bore at each end of the inner wall that constitutes a part of the wall of the cylinder bore, a sealing projection near the edge of the sealing lip whose edge comes in contact with the inner wall of the slit, and another seal projection that comes in contact with a sealing seat projecting from the inner wall of the slit.

Rodless cylinder with improved sealing belt

The present invention provides a rodless cylinder capable of displacing a piston without its operation stoppage in particular even when a large load or force is applied, smoothly reciprocating a sliding table and forming its entire structure in a compact manner. The rodless cylinder according to the present invention has a cylinder body and an L-shaped sliding table. A rail-shaped member fitted on a linear guide member of the sliding table is mounted on the upper surface of the cylinder body, which is held against the sliding table, so as to extend along the longitudinal direction of the cylinder body. A plurality of ball bearings are linearly disposed inside the linear guide member held in engagement with the rail-shaped member so as to extend along the longitudinal direction of the linear guide member.

A rodless cylinder includes a cylinder body, a piston, a sliding table, first and second sealing members, and pairs of first and second holding mechanisms. The cylinder body has a bore defined in a cylinder tube whose ends are closed and a slit which extends along the longitudinal direction thereof and enables the bore to communicate with the outside. The piston is reciprocatively moved within the bore. The sliding table is coupled to the piston by a connecting portion extending through the slit and moved according to the reciprocating motion of the piston. The first and second sealing members are brought into engagement with the piston and the sliding table to close the slit. The pairs of first and second holding mechanisms are located on both sides of the bore and mounted to the cylinder body and the sliding table. The pair of first holding mechanisms respectively has first support members and first movable members both used to guide the sliding table when the piston is reciprocated and to support a vertical load which acts on the sliding table. The pair of second holding mechanisms respectively has second support members and second movable members both capable of guiding the sliding table when the piston is reciprocated and supporting a horizontal load which acts on the sliding table, so as to prevent the inside diameter of the bore from varying.

The rodless cylinder includes a cylinder body, a piston, and a slide table connected to the piston. The slide table and the piston are united with each other due to a coupling part which projects through a slit formed in a longitudinal direction of the cylinder body. The slide table includes first and second load transmitters, whereas the cylinder body includes first and second load receivers corresponding to the first and second load transmitters. When a lateral load is applied to the slide table, the load is transmitted via one of the first and second load transmitters to a corresponding one of the first and second load receivers so as to transmit the force in a direction in which the slit of the cylinder body can be widened.

Fluidic power actuator

In a rodless cylinder comprising a series of driving magnets mounted on a piston fitted in a cylinder tube and a series of driven magnets on a driven member sliding along the cylinder tube, piping to convey a hydraulic fluid is simplified as follows. Both ends of the cylinder tube and guide rods extending parallel thereto are fastened to two end plates. Two ports through which the hydraulic fluid is supplied to and discharged from pressure chambers on both sides of the piston in the cylinder tube are provided in one of the end plates. While one of the ports communicates directly with one pressure chamber through the end plate, the other port communicates with the other pressure chamber through one of the guide rods and the other end plate. The driven member sliding along the cylinder tube carries the series of driven magnets and two annular sliding members on both sides thereof in such a manner as to be movable in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder. This eliminates the need of assembling the cylinder tube with very high accuracy. Also, the cylinder can exert its driving force to the maximum extent of its ability since any external force working on the driven member is supported by the guide rods.
