The steam-generating warming articleis used to improve the human body's physiology. The steam generating elementis preferably a heat generating sheet prepared by incorporating an aqueous electrolyte solution into a molded sheet containing an oxidizable metal, a reaction accelerator, and a fibrous material.

Steam-generating warming article

A physiology enhancing device for improving physiological functions of a human body, etc., which comprises a heat generating element making use of chemical energy and a sheet interposed between the heat generating element and a body surface of a wearer, and which is designed to supply steam generated from the heat generating element while the device is applied to the body surface. The device exhibits steam generating capability for 2 hours or longer and, while applied to the body surface, raises the body surface temperature to a temperature from 38&#xb0; C. to lower than 42&#xb0; C. within one hour from the application. The sheet interposed between the heat generating element and the body surface preferably has a function of regulating air feed to the heat generating element and a function of transferring the heat of the physiology enhancing device to the body surface and preferably has a total thickness of 0.05 to 1.5 mm.

Physiology enhancing device

A heat and steam generator for eye application includes a heat and steam generating member making use of oxidative reaction of an oxidizable metal and is adapted to supply steam to eyes and surroundings. The heat and steam generator is adapted to release steam from its side brought into contact with eyes and surroundings for a period of 1 to 30 minutes to maintain the skin surface temperature to which it is applied at 34&#xb0; C. to 43&#xb0; C. over a period of 1 to 120 minutes. Steam-generating heating sheet for the eyes

The eye pillow of the present invention has a steam-generating unit that uses chemical energy. The temperature of steam released from the surface of the eye pillow which is applied to the eyes and the area around the eyes is kept at 50&deg; C. or lower and total weight of the eye pillow is 50 g or more. Preferably, the eye pillow has the steam-generating unit and a cooler which are attached to the eye pillow body removably. Thus, the moisture as with a steamed towel and the cold as with a cold towel can be continuously introduced to the eyes and the area around the eyes easily and safely to relieve the dry eyes, etc., while applying an appropriate pressure to the eyes and the area around the eyes.
