A recording-medium transfer device having a anti-rattle construction is provided. A transfer roller of the recording-medium transfer device is arranged above a chassis to be perpendicular to a direction X of transferring recording medium. The transfer roller has a structure in which a shaft is inserted in rolling member made of a material having flexibility. Projecting portions and are formed on the chassis to oppose to both ends of the rolling member. In both ends of the rolling member, clearances are respectively formed to permit the deformation produced by its abutment with the projecting portions and . In the process for inserting the disc, the projecting portions and are moved away from the transfer roller . Upon receiving a driving force from a driving motor and gears to , the rolling member of the transfer roller is rotated keeping in contact with the disc so as to transfer the disc toward a clamping position. When the transfer of the recording medium is completed, both ends of the rolling member press on the projecting portions and , thereby the transfer roller is fixed to the chassis so as to prevent chatter due to outside vibration from occurring.

Feed roller for recording medium

A main chassis is provided to mount a system for reproducing a large diameter disc and a small diameter disc, a pair of disc carrying rollers is mounted on the main chassis for carrying an inserted disc to the system, and a large diameter disc detector arm is provided to be pivoted by a large diameter disc carried by the disc carrying rollers so that the large diameter disc is clamped. An adapter is detachably mounted on the main chassis. A pair of centering arms are mounted on the adapter for centering a small diameter disc carried by the disc carrying rollers, and a small diameter disc detector arm mounted on the adapter for operating the large diameter disc detector arm for clamping the carried small diameter disc.

Device for reproducing optical discs

There is provided a loading/ejecting mechanism which comprises a moving mechanism for engaging with a cassette and for moving the cassette between an inserting position and a reproducing position. A sliding member is capable of applying a driving force to the moving mechanism so as to cause the moving mechanism to move between the inserting position and the reproducing position. A first gear is driven by a motor and provided such that in a cassette loading operation, the first gear engages with the sliding member thereby causing the sliding member to move in the loading direction. A second gear is driven by the first gear and provided such that in a cassette ejecting operation, the second gear rotates in an opposite direction to the first gear. A third gear is provided coaxially with the second gear and adapted to rotate in the same direction as the second gear, such that in the cassette ejecting operation, the third gear engages with the sliding member, thereby causing the sliding member to move in the ejecting direction.

Loading/ejecting mechanism for a tape recorder

A mode control ring having cams for operating various devices in a cassette tape recorder is rotatably mounted on a base plate. A normal pinch device and a reverse pinch device are mounted on the base plate. Each of the pinch devices comprises a capstan, a pinch roller provided on a swing lever so as to be engaged with the capstan, and an idler provided to be engaged with a reel gear. A power transmitting devices is provided for transmitting a driving power from a motor to each capstan. The normal pinch device, reverse pinch device are disposed along the circumference of the mode control ring, and each swing lever is arranged so as to be moved in the radial direction of the mode control ring. Selective operation of these devices is controlled by the rotatably mounted mode control ring, which has various cams formed on its inner peripheral surface, on its outer surface, and as grooves therein, which are engaged with cam following members of the devices.
