An electrochemiluminescence method of detecting an analyte in a liquid sample and a corresponding analysis system. An analyte in a liquid sample is detected by first providing a receptacle containing a fluid comprising protein coated magnetic microparticles to a stirring unit. Stirring of the fluid is necessary since the density of the microparticles is usually higher than the density of the buffer fluid. Thus the microparticles tend to deposit on the bottom of the receptacle leading to an aggregation of the microparticles because of weak interactions. To obtain representative measurements a homogeneous distribution of the microparticles in the buffer fluid is necessary to ensure a constant concentration of microparticles for each analysis cycle. It is further necessary to provide disaggregation of the microparticles, which is also realized by stirring the fluid. Stirring is conducted with a rotational frequency that is adapted to the amount of fluid to be stirred.

Electrochemiluminescence method of detecting an analyte in a liquid sample and analysis system

An analytic method uses a labeled antigen, labeled antibody, tracer, etc. in which a radio isotope, fluorescent dye, luminescent dye, enzyme, etc. is bonded to an antibody or an antigen bonded to a protein as an object of analysis for performing an assay of a trace amount of a substance such as a hormone, tumor marker, infective pathogen marker, infective antibody, etc., for blood, serum, plasma, or body fluid as a sample or specimen. The analysis is enabled at high sensitivity, with less generation of noises and at low background. When an assay is performed based on the antigen-antibody reaction for a sample in an analytic method by fluorometry or luminometry, detection or measurement of non-specific fluorescence or luminescence such as interference light is eliminated or removed effectively irrespective of the property of the sample or the level of the concentration of substances contained in the sample.

Automatic analyzer

A chemical analysis apparatus comprises a motor, a holding disk that can be rotated by the motor, a plurality of examination cartridges arranged on the holding disk, a perforator that perforates the examination cartridges, a heating device, and a detection device. The examination cartridge comprises a substrate including a vessel and a flow channel, which are defined by recesses, and a cover that covers the vessel and the flow channel. A centrifugal force generated by rotation of the holding disk is made use of to move a solution from a vessel on an inner peripheral side relative to an axis of rotation to a vessel on an outer peripheral side relative to the axis of rotation through the flow channel.

The invention provides a chemical analysis apparatus which easily agitates and warms up. A chemical analysis apparatus has a motor, a retaining disc which can be rotated by the motor, a plurality of inspection cartridges which are arranged on the retaining disc, a punching machine for punching the inspection cartridges, a warming apparatus and a detection apparatus. The inspection cartridge includes a container formed by a concave portion and a base plate having a flow path. A cover covering the container and the flow path is installed to the base plate. A liquid solution is moved to the container in an outer peripheral side with respect to a rotation axis from the container in an inner peripheral side with respect to the rotation axis via the flow path, by utilizing a centrifugal force generated on the basis of the rotation of the retaining disc. The inspection cartridge is provided with an agitating means for agitating the liquid solution within the container and a warming means for warming up the liquid solution within the container.

An immunological analyzing apparatus and method using fine particles bonded with an antigen or an antibody are provided which are capable of obtaining a good analysis result with preferable reproducibility with no effect of carry-over.
