A promotion method and a system which can realize thoughtful promotion by facilitating changing settings such as the number of points issued for each commodity, a promotion period and the like without the necessity for changing settings of target automatic vending machines all at once. A commodity code peculiar to each commodity is added to point information, and a data center selectively adds the number of points of the point information of the specific commodity on the basis of the commodity code.

There is provided a cashless vending system including a vending machinehaving a devicethat reads transaction history information from a mediumand a communication device that sends transaction history information to an information center; and an information centerhaving a device that receives transaction history information from the vending machine, a device that receives verification information from a mobile phoneor the like, a device that determines the validity of the verification information, and a device that sends transaction history information to the mobile phonewhen the verification information is valid. Cashless vending system

Upon the sale of merchandise by a vending machine, encrypted point information expressing prescribed points is presented to a user. The user transmits the presented point information, together with identification information for the user, to a center device by means of the user's portable telephone set. The center device decrypts the transmitted and encrypted point information, stores and manages points corresponding to the point information for the user, and offers prescribed service to the user based on the points stored and managed for the user.

To send point information indicated by an automatic vending machine to a center unit by a packet communication function of a portable telephone of a user of the automatic vending machine, a free space in a single packet of the point information to be sent from the automatic vending machine to the center unit is used to send management information such as sales information, stock information, failure information and the like of the automatic vending machine to the center unit.

A coin dispensing apparatus having a simple construction and capable of dispensing coins securely and easily. A guide member is arranged extending along a tangent to a column formed in the center of rotation of the disk, whereby the coins can be smoothly transported along the guide member by means of a force from first protrusions without applying an impulsive force to the first protrusions and the guide member. Each coin transported to a predetermined position by the associated first protrusion is further transported to the outside of the transportation limit of the first protrusion by a second protrusion which is associated with a subsequent through hole, and is delivered securely to a coin dispensing port. A stirring rod having a rigid portion with an elliptic section and a rod with a circular section is fixed to the center of rotation of the disk, and the coins in a hopper are stirred by the protuberances on the outer peripheral surface of the rigid portion. Thus, extraordinary rotation of the disk and overloading of a motor, which may be caused by bridging or interference of the coins in the hopper, is prevented.

Coin dispensing apparatus

A bill identification apparatus which is hardly subject to decision errors attributable to fluctuations of detected data caused by aging or partial soiling of bills. In identifying a bill, physical properties pi for various positions i on the bill are detected in synchronism with the transportation speed of the bill, a correction value pm for making an average value for an inspection section for the detected data pi equal to an average value for an inspection section for standard pattern values pci is obtained, and the detected data pi are corrected by using the correction value pm, thereby eliminating fluctuations of the data attributable to general deterioration or soiling of the bill or detectors. Also, the authenticity and type of the bill are discriminated by computing a heterogeneity pr on the basis of a statistical synthetic evaluation of the correlation between the standard pattern value pci and the detected data pi for each position i, whereby wrong classification and authentication attributable to partial data errors can be prevented.

Bill identification apparatus

Various signals are exchanged between a coin acceptor section that identifies the authenticity of deposited coins and sorts out the on the basis of their denominations, and a change control section that receives the sorted-out coins and performs control to count the coins and to deliver the coins as a change. Such a signal exchange between the two sections is achieved through optical coupling between a light emitting diode and a photo transistor, without employing any electric contacts. Further, electric power supply from the change control section to the coin acceptor section is done through spring-biased probes without employing any electric connectors, or through inductive coupling without employing any electric contacts. Such arrangements can greatly facilitate attachment and detachment of the coin acceptor section to and from the change control section.
