A drive system includes an engine as a drive source, a lead storage battery that is charged using the engine as a motive power source, a starter that starts up the engine by being driven by electric power from the lead storage battery, and a battery sensor that measures an inter-terminal voltage of the lead storage battery. A control device that is applied to the drive system temporarily stops the engine when a temporary stop condition is satisfied, and starts up the engine again when a discharge amount of the lead storage battery in a period of the temporary stop is larger than a discharge upper limit amount. When an inrush voltage is equal to or lower than a restraint threshold, the discharge upper limit amount is set so as to be smaller than when the inrush voltage is higher than the restraint threshold.

Control device for drive system

A drive system includes an engine as a drive source, a lead storage battery that is charged using the engine as a motive power source, a starter that starts up the engine by being driven by electric power from the lead storage battery, and a voltage sensor that measures an inter-vehicle voltage of the lead storage battery. A control device that is applied to the drive system determines that the battery has been degraded, when a voltage difference between a first battery start-up voltage and a second battery start-up voltage is larger than a preset degradation determination threshold, the first battery start-up voltage being measured by the voltage sensor when the starter is driven, the second battery start-up voltage being measured by the voltage sensor when the starter is driven at a different timing from a timing when the first battery start-up voltage is measured.

An electric power supply device includes first and second batteries respectively supplying electric power to a plurality of load instruments mounted on a vehicle, an electric power generator capable of charging the first battery and the second battery by regenerative electric power generation, and control means for controlling the electric power generator so that a charging electric power amount of at least one of the first battery and the second battery based on the regenerative electric power generation is suppressed in a case where at least one of a high-load instrument and a backup target instrument is present among the plurality of load instruments and the electric power generator is performing the regenerative electric power generation during the deceleration of the vehicle.

A power supply control system includes a first controller that performs auxiliary-machine power reduction control for reducing electric power consumed by auxiliary machines, a second controller that performs high-voltage power generation control for making the generated voltage of the generator higher than the voltage set during the auxiliary-machine power reduction control, a frequency determining unit that determines whether the frequency of switching between the auxiliary-machine power reduction control and the high-voltage power generation control becomes equal to or higher than a predetermined frequency, and a lower-limit voltage setting unit that sets a lower-limit voltage of the generator under the auxiliary-machine power reduction control to a higher value when the frequency of switching is equal to or higher than the predetermined frequency, than when the frequency of switching is lower than the predetermined frequency.

There is a need to predict a driving environment with high responsiveness by a simple configuration. There is provided a driving environment prediction device that predicts a driving environment of a vehicle that causes a vehicle stop. The driving environment prediction device comprises: a first vehicle stop time rate calculator which is configured to calculate a rate of vehicle stop time in a first period, as a first vehicle stop time rate (shorter-period vehicle stop time rate); a second vehicle stop time rate calculator which is configured to calculate a rate of vehicle stop time in a second period which is longer than the first period, as a second vehicle stop time rate (longer-period vehicle stop time rate); and a driving environment predictor which is configured to predict the driving environment, based on the shorter-period vehicle stop time rate and the longer-period vehicle stop time rate.

A power supply apparatus includes a first battery, a second battery, and an ECU configured to determine whether the following conditions i), ii), and iii) are satisfied: i) a degree of deterioration of the second battery is lower than a first threshold; ii) a state-of-charge of the second battery is lower than a second threshold; and iii) the state-of-charge is equal to or higher than a third threshold. The second threshold is higher by a prescribed value than a lowest allowable value of the state-of-charge at which the second battery can function as a backup power supply. In a vehicle has a generator and a secondary battery, when a power storage ratio of the secondary battery becomes less than or equal to a first threshold value, until the power storage ratio becomes a second threshold value, which is greater than the first threshold value, a charging control apparatus sets an upper limit of power generation voltage of the generator other than during deceleration of the vehicle, to be higher than an upper limit of the power generation voltage other than during deceleration of the vehicle when the power storage ratio is greater than the second threshold value.
