A detecting unit generates detection signals corresponding to a plurality of ranges aligned in one direction along a moving direction of a detection body, based on a change in the magnetic field constantly received by a detecting element from the detection body. A signal processing unit acquires a detection signal from the detecting unit, compares the detection signal with a threshold value, and identifies a position of the detection body as a position of any one of a plurality of ranges based on a combination of a magnitude relationship between the detection signal and the threshold value. A detection body has a plurality of region portions corresponding to a plurality of ranges. The plurality of region portions are configured to be connected stepwise in the moving direction of the detection body within a plane of a detection surface facing the detecting unit of the detection body.

Position sensor

Magnets are arranged at intervals along a stroke direction with an interposed space. Magnetic pole surfaces of adjacent ones of the magnets have opposite poles. A detector is arranged with a gap in a gap direction against a magnetic pole surface of each of the magnets and acquires a sine signal and a cosine signal as detection signals of phases corresponding to the positions of the magnets, based on a change in a magnetic field received from the magnets according to movement of the detector relative to the detection object in the stroke direction. A signal processor acquires the sine signal and the cosine signal from the detector, generates, based on the sine signal and the cosine signal, an arctangent signal corresponding to a stroke amount of the detection object relative to the detector, and acquires the arctangent signal as a position signal.

Linear position sensor

A rotation detection device includes: a detector arranged with a gap to a rotating body in which rotation position information is periodically provided at regular intervals, and detecting a magnetic change as a rotation position of the rotating body; and a signal processor acquiring the rotation position information. The detector has first and second magnetic elements arranged with an interval of a/2 in a rotation direction. Each regular interval is defined as a. The first magnetic element outputs a first signal having a period corresponding to the regular intervals. The second magnetic element outputs a second signal having an opposite phase to the first signal and the period. The signal processor acquires a differential signal between the first and second signals as the rotation position information.

Rotation detection device having detector and signal processor

A position sensor includes a detector and a signal processor. The detector includes: a sensor chip having a surface; a first detection element disposed at the surface of the sensor chip; and a second detection element disposed at the surface of the sensor chip. The signal processor processes a signal input from the detector. The first detection element outputs a first detection signal corresponding to a position of a detection target, based on a change in a magnetic field received from the detection target. The second detection element outputs a second detection signal corresponding to the position of the detection target, based on the change in the magnetic field received from the detection target. A center of balance of the first detection element coincides with a center of balance of the second detection element.

A position sensor including: a power supply terminal to which a power supply voltage is applied; a ground terminal to which a ground voltage is applied; an output terminal that outputs a signal; a detection portion that operates based on the power supply voltage and the ground voltage, and detects a position of a detection target by a magnetic resistance element whose resistance value changes according to a movement of the detection target; and a signal processing portion that operates based on the power supply voltage and the ground voltage, and processes a signal input from the detection portion.

A magnetic detection element includes an element part and a metal film. The element part is arranged on a surface of a substrate, and has linear portions arranged in parallel with each other and connecting portions connecting the linear portions in a meandering shape. The metal film has a first layered portion stacked on a turn portion of the element part defined by the connecting portion and a connection between the connecting portion and the linear portion, and a second layered portion formed integrally with the first layered portion to entirely cover a region of the surface surrounded by an internal end of the turn portion. The first layered portion has a peripheral side disposed between the internal end and an external end of the turn portion so as to expose an outer periphery of the turn portion.

Magnetic detection element having element part and metal film

A position sensor includes a detector and a signal processor. The detector includes a magnet generating a bias magnetic field and a detection element configured to be applied by the bias magnetic field, and generates plural detection signals including distinct phase difference and corresponding to plural ranges aligned in one direction along a movement direction of a detection target, based on a change in a magnetic field received by the detection element from the detection target with a movement of the detection target having a magnetic body. The signal processor acquires the detection signals from the detector, compares the detection signals with a threshold value, and specifies a position of the detection target as a position at one of the ranges based on a combination of magnitude relation between the detection signals and the threshold value.

The rotation sensor includes a plurality of magnetic sensors for outputting a sine wave signal and a cosine wave signal corresponding to an electrical angle of rotation of the rotating body, and the magnetic sensors are arranged at equal intervals and in a circumferential direction of the rotating body apart from the outer periphery of the rotating body, and are fixed in position so as to detect a change in magnetic field caused by the change in the rotational position of the rotating body due to the rotation of the rotating body. The rotation sensor includes an arithmetic unit, which receives sine wave signals and cosine wave signals from a plurality of magnetic sensors, and adds and subtracts sine wave signals and cosine wave signals according to a predetermined rule, thereby cancels out the high-order components contained in sine wave signals and cosine wave signals.

Rotation sensor

A rotation detection device includes a detection unit and a determination circuit unit. A first magnetoresistive element pair, a second magnetoresistive element pair and a third magnetoresistive element pair are located to be farther from the end part than a fourth magnetoresistive element pair and a fifth magnetoresistive element pair are. The second magnetoresistive element pair is located in a region surrounded by the first magnetoresistive element pair, the third magnetoresistive element pair, the fourth magnetoresistive element pair and the fifth magnetoresistive element pair. The detection unit is to generate a main signal based on outputs of the first magnetoresistive element pair, the second magnetoresistive element pair and the third magnetoresistive element pair and to generate a sub signal based on outputs of the fourth magnetoresistive element pair and the fifth magnetoresistive element pair.

Rotation detection device

A pressure sensor comprises: a case; a detection unit attached to one end of the case; a housing member coupled with the one end of the case, the housing member including a first connection member, a second connection member, a passage and a pressure introduction hole; and a diaphragm fixed to the housing member so as to cover the detection unit, wherein the passage connects the first connection member with the second connection member, the pressure introduction hole introduces a pressure of the cooling medium to the diaphragm, and the detection unit is capable of detecting the pressure of the cooling medium.

Pressure sensor and attachment structure of pressure sensor

A pressure sensor is composed of a cylindrical connector case firmly connected to a housing and a pressure-detecting chamber formed between the connector case and the housing. The pressure-detecting chamber is confined by a metal diaphragm, an outer peripheral portion of which is firmly held at a portion connecting the connector case and the housing. A relatively thick ring plate is connected to a mounting surface of the housing, and the outer peripheral portion of the metal diaphragm is sandwiched between the ring plate and a pushing plate placed on and connected to the ring plate. Thus, the pressure-detecting chamber containing a sensing element therein is surely sealed even if the housing is made of a material, such as aluminum, which is different from that of the metal diaphragm.
