A packaging machine moves its heater unit for longitudinal sealing of a tubularly formed film between a sealing position at which the heater unit contacts the film and a retracted position at which it is separated from the film. In addition to the mechanism for this motion, an air cylinder is provided for controlling the compressive force with which the heater unit at its sealing position compresses the film. A pressure controlling system regulates the air pressure supplied to the air cylinder. If the mechanism for moving the heater unit also employs another air cylinder, a higher pressure for moving the heater unit and a lower pressure for controlling its compressive force may be generated from a single air source and supplied to the two air cylinders by a switching mechanism. A single air cylinder with two air chambers may be used for the both functions. A motor is additionally provided for removing the heater unit and its support unit much farther away from the film to provide a large enough space for exchanging the former and/or the chute of the packaging machine.

Method of longitudinally sealing tubular bag-making material

An aim is to provide a bag manufacturing and packaging apparatus which is able to conduct a bag manufacturing at high speed, further to be small in height. A bag manufacturing and packaging apparatuscomprises a bag manufacturing unit that includes a transverse sealing mechanismand a strip mounting unit that includes a transfer mechanism. The bag manufacturing unit manufactures bags filled with articles. The transfer mechanismtransfers bags manufactured by the bag manufacturing unit diagonally downward. The strip mounting unit mounts bags B to a strip S after they are transferred by means of the transfer mechanism

Bag manufacturing and packaging apparatus

A form-fill-seal packaging machine has a halting device above its transverse sealer below a cylindrical chute through which articles to be packaged are dropped cyclically in batches. A film is bent into a tubular form and pulled down around the chute to the transverse sealer. The halting device serves to squeeze the film such that the free-falling articles are temporarily halted before reaching the transverse sealer such that the articles can pass through the transverse sealer in a more compactly bunched batches. This makes it less likely for any of the articles to be caught between sealing devices of the transverse sealer and the work efficiency of the packaging machine can be improved.

A form-fill-seal packaging machine has not only the basic elements such as devices for transporting a film and longitudinally and transversely sealing it but also a former and a chute formed integrally together as a former unit which is made detachably attachable to the frame structure of the packaging machine by an attachment mechanism. The former unit has wedge-shaped members, and the attachment mechanism includes a mobile member constrained to move linearly and a lever which is attached to the frame structure such that a one-touch operation to rotate this lever causes this mobile member to move towards or away from the wedge-shaped members on the former unit and to engage with them or disengage from them.

An automatic weigher with a plurality of article batch handling units arranged in a circular formation is controlled by a single computer to perform two or more mutually independent combinational weighing operations. In order to allow different articles to be weighed, a dispersion feeder separable into individually vibrating table units with adjustable partition walls is provided at the center. For improving the efficiency of combinational weighing operations, each article batch handling unit is provided with a memory hopper and the computer is programmed to generally give higher priority to memory hoppers than to weigh hoppers such that memory hoppers are generally more likely to be selected by the combinational computations. The computer is also programmed to identify article batch handling units in which the total weight of article batches in the memory hopper and weigh hopper is less than a critical value and to combine their article batches.

Combinational weigher for multiple operations

The present invention device relates to a distribution table structure wherein the base end portion of a radiation trough of each head of a combination weighing system having a predetermined number of heads, each having a radiation trough and a weighing hopper connected to the tip of the radiation trough from below through a weighing hopper, are arranged circularly, is connected to the distribution table in the circumferential direction. More particularly, the present device relates to a distribution table structure wherein a tapered cone-like table main body is divided into a plurality of fan-like mutually independent segments in the circumferential direction, each of the segments is supported to a base frame through leaf springs and arranged to be independently vibrated by vibrator means such as an electromagnetic vibrator and moreover, each segment is equipped with separator flanges for its adjacent segments and provided with an independent distribution and supply function.

Distribution table structure of combination

A combinational weighing system with a plurality of article batch handling means has an article feeding means for feeding articles to be weighed into the individual article batch handling means, and after a desired combination or weights within a preselected range is determined by a computer, the article batches from the selected article batch handling means are discharged together to be made into a package. The system also includes a means for measuring the weight of the article accumulated on the article feeding means and the output signal from such a weight-measuring means is transmitted to control the operation of a conveyor for supplying the articles to the article feeding means.
