A tactile device includes: a substrate provided with a first surface; an organic piezoelectric film arranged on the first surface side; a plurality of electrodes arranged on the first surface; and a plurality of drive circuits arranged between the substrate and the organic piezoelectric film. The plurality of electrodes includes: a common electrode arranged across a plurality of cells; and a plurality of driving electrodes respectively arranged in the plurality of cells. The plurality of drive circuits includes: a first drive circuit capable of supplying a first driving signal; and a second drive circuit capable of supplying a second driving signal. The plurality of driving electrodes includes: a first driving electrode connected to the first drive circuit; and a second driving electrode connected to the second drive circuit. The first driving electrode and the second driving electrode are arranged in each of the plurality of cells.

Display apparatus

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display area with pixels, and a detection electrode which includes first conductive lines overlapping the display area. Each of the pixels includes a first subpixel, a second subpixel adjacent to the first subpixel in a first direction, a third subpixel adjacent to the first subpixel in a second direction, and a fourth subpixel adjacent to the third subpixel in the first direction and to the second subpixel in the second direction. The pixels are arranged in the first direction with a first pitch, and the first conductive lines are arranged in the first direction with a second pitch which falls within a range of 2.2 times the first pitch or more and 3.2 times the first pitch or less.

The purpose of the invention is to suppress image persistence. The structure if the invention is as follows: A liquid crystal display device comprising: scanning lines extending in a first direction and arranged in a second direction, video signal lines arranged to cross the scanning lines, a pixel area is surrounded by the scanning lines and the video signal lines, a pixel electrode is formed in the pixel area, wherein conductive wirings are formed over the video signal lines via an organic insulating film in a plan view in the display area where images are displayed, a width in the first direction of the conductive wiring is bigger than a width in the first direction of the video signal line, an amount that the conductive wiring protrude the video signal line in a plan view is essentially the same in both side of the video signal line.

Liquid crystal display device that avoids influence on image quality due to residual ions

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate including a scanning line, a control line, a control electrode, a signal line, a pixel electrode, a first switching element, and a second switching element. The first switching element includes a first semiconductor layer, a first gate electrode, and a first insulating film. The second switching element includes a second semiconductor layer, a second gate electrode, and a second insulating film. The control electrode is overlapped with the second gate electrode.

In a display device, light emitting areas and colored areas each have a predetermined planar shape having no rotational symmetry so that rotation of the area by an angle greater than or equal to 0&#xb0; but smaller than 360&#xb0; does not produce an initial shape of the area and are so arranged as to have different types of rotation angle. The colored areas are grouped based on a set of the colored areas of colors different from one another to forma plurality of full-color pixels. The full-color pixels are so arranged that the rotation angle of the colored areas of the same color have different types. In the full-color pixels of the same type, the colored areas of the same color have the same rotation angle. An image display device having improved image retention capability by analyzing the mechanism behind the creation of an unwanted electric field applied to an element after a power supply is turned off, and devising a drive method and so forth for compensating for the same, is provided. Electrophoretic particles contain three types of charged particles, C (cyan), M (magenta), and Y (yellow) that are mutually different in color and threshold voltage for starting electrophoresis. When the threshold voltages of C (cyan), M (magenta) and Y (yellow) are respectively Vth3, Vth2, and Vth3, these satisfy the relationship |Vth3|&#x3c;|Vth2|&#x3c;|Vth1|. Further, a voltage application unit applies a voltage (VE) different from a reference potential during the final period of image update period. An electrophoretic display device is provided, in which an image update period is constituted with a reset period including at least a stirring pulse for stirring electrophoretic particles and a compensation pulse for suppressing accumulation of the residual DC component and with a set period including a set pulse for applying, to intended pixels, a voltage of polarity for making transition to black or white for a prescribed amount of time according to a next image. The voltage waveforms for each display gradation are so designed that a period where a positive voltage is applied to a counter electrode and a period where a negative voltage is applied do not overlap with each other, and a compensation pulse is applied after the stirring pulse which sets all the pixels of the display unit to a white or black base state.
