A driving tool including a driver configured to drive out a fastener, a piston to which the driver is connected, a cylinder in which the piston is disposed so as to be reciprocated, a head valve which is slidably mounted to an outer circumferential side of the cylinder and controls a flow of compressed air into the cylinder, and a seal portion which is provided to face an opening edge of the head valve. The seal portion includes a lip portion protruding along an outer circumferential surface of the head valve.

A driving tool includes a driver configured to drive out a fastener, a piston to which the driver is connected, a cylinder in which the piston is disposed so as to be reciprocated, a head valve which is slidably mounted and controls flow of compressed air into the cylinder, and a foreign matter removing member provided with a protruding portion facing a circumferential surface of the head valve. A nailing machine for striking a nail supplied into an injection port formed at a nose portion by a driver to strike out from inside of the injection port is provided with a nail guide member on a front side of the injection port. The nail guide member is provided with a guiding guide groove for guiding a front end portion of the nail struck out from inside of the injection port at an inner side face thereof, provided with a projected portion an outer diameter shape of which is formed in a half cut converging taper shape, and provided with a bulged portion brought into contact with a surface of a construction metal piece on an upper side of the projected portion. The nailing machine is positioned by inserting the projected portion into a nail hole formed at a construction metal piece. The bulged portion constitutes a fulcrum of rotation by which the nailing machine is inclined when the nailing machine is inclined to a front side.

A nailing machine includes a magazine for storing nails, an injection port, a drive mechanism, and a nail detecting lever. The nail detecting lever formed with a detecting end capable of advancing to inside of a nail containing portion is rotatably arranged between a downwardmost pusher and a pusher thereabove on one side of the magazine. An idle striking preventing arm has an upper end arranged at a vicinity of a starter, and a lower end arranged to be opposed to an end portion on a side opposed to a detecting end of the detecting lever and which is operated to start a nailing machine in cooperation with the starter. A magazine includes a nail guide surface and a movable guide wall. The nail guide surface is linear and continuous to a nail introducing opening and has a shoulder for supporting the nail heads of a connected nail assembly. The movable guide wall is confronted with the nail guide surface. In the magazine, a plurality of connected nail assemblies are loaded and placed in side-by-side relation, while being in contact with each other, between the nail guide surface and the movable guide wall. The plurality of connected nail assemblies are pressed against the guide surface of the magazine by pressing members provided on the movable guide wall. The movable guide wall is turned, for opening and closing, between a position being confronted with the nail guide surface of the magazine and a position at which the nail guide surface is opened.

The inner wall of the guide port adjacent to the magazine is extended and inserted into the nail passage of the magazine, and the end portion of the extended inner wall is connected and continuous with the wall surface of the nail passage.

A box nailing machine includes a piston within a cylinder to drive a nail. A main selector valve introduces compressed air into the cylinder and discharges the compressed air from the cylinder. A start operation valve operates the main selector valve. A trigger device for the box nailing machine comprises: a trigger switch operated by a trigger lever; a contact switch operated by the contact arm; an electromagnetic valve serving as the start operation valve; a logical circuit for applying a drive current to the electromagnetic valve when both the trigger switch and the contact switch are turned on; and a controller which includes a timer with a predetermined time limit. The timer is started in accordance with a trigger signal of the trigger switch and prohibits the drive current from the electromagnetic valve when the timer counts the predetermined time period. The timer is reset upon release of the trigger.

A safety mechanism for a nailing machine in which a start valve for a hammering mechanism is driven by cooperative action of operating a trigger lever and moving a contact arm to an uppermost point where it is pressed against a material to be nailed. The hammering mechanism for hammering a nail is supplied to a nose section arranged at a front end portion of a housing and is actuated by the start valve. The safety mechanism comprises: an arm body provided with the contact arm and being vertically movable along the nose section; a threaded member attached at an upper end portion of the arm body, the threaded member being rotatably and vertically movable; a push-up member positioned above the threaded member, the push-up member engaging with the threaded member to push up the trigger lever to make effective the operation of the trigger lever when the contact arm is moved to the uppermost point thereof; an adjust dial attached to the housing and positioned below the trigger lever, for rotating the threaded member; and a cover member covering the contact arm in part which is below the adjust dial and above the lower end of the arm body. The adjust dial may operate independently of the contact arm. The threaded member may have a hole for slidably receiving the receiving member.

Safety mechanism for nailing machine

The operation mode of a nailing machine can be automatically and reliably switched, for its selection, from the successive nailing mode and the one-shot nailing mode and vice versa by changing the order of operating a trigger lever and a contact arm. In the selected mode, the nailing work can be performed. By releasing both the trigger lever and the contact arm, the machine is returned to its initial mode. When the contact arm is moved to the top dead center after the trigger lever is operated, a portion of a slide die comes in contact with the underside of the trigger lever. When the trigger lever is operated after the contact arm is moved to the top dead center, the portion of the slide die comes in contact with the upper side of the trigger lever, thereby preventing a further movement of the contact arm to the bottom dead center.

Drive device for a nailing machine

A nailing machine according to the present invention comprises a nail push member for separating a nail from a nail band supplied to the nail injection hole of the nose member by the nail supply mechanism before the nail is driven by the percussion driver and for pushing the nail to the front of the nail injection hole; and a nail holding means for holding the body part of the nail pushed to the fore side of the nose member by the nail push member in a state that the pointed end of the nail is protruded. Thereby, the nailing machine can easily be positioned in a manner that the pointed end portion of a nail is protruded from the foremost end of the nose member by a predetermined length before the nailing machine drives a nail supplied to the nailing position, and the protruded end of the nail can be inserted into a through-hole of the work. Further, the nailing machine can drive a nail exactly through the through-hole in a manner that the nail protruded from the foremost end of the nose member is inhibited from moving in the direction orthogonal to the nail axial direction, thereby to prevent the nail from being slanted when it is set to the through-hole.
