A bone fastener includes a proximal portion including an inner surface defining an implant cavity. A first member is configured for disposal with the proximal portion and includes a wall defining a cavity. A second member is configured for disposal with the cavity. A distal portion includes a first end disposed within the members and a second end configured to penetrate tissue. The proximal portion overlaps the second member to limit movement of the first end of the distal portion. Systems and methods are disclosed.

Bone fastener and methods of use

A spinal implant system comprises a first instrument extending between a first end including an outer surface and a second end configured for engaging a first implant. The first instrument defines a passageway. A second instrument is configured for disposal within the passageway, and extending between a first end including an inner surface and a second end configured for engaging a second implant. The inner surface is engageable with the outer surface to fix the second instrument in a selected orientation relative to the first instrument. The second end of the first instrument is disposable between an expanded orientation and a non expanded orientation to engage the first implant and the second end of the second instrument is translatable relative to the first end of the second instrument to dispose the second implant with the first implant. Methods of use are disclosed.

Spinal implant system and method

A method for treating a spine includes disposing a body including vertebrae in a lateral orientation relative to a surgical fixed surface configured for supporting the body; creating an incision in tissue of the body along a substantially transverse plane of the body; spacing the tissue adjacent the incision along a sagittal plane of the body to define a surgical pathway to the vertebrae; and delivering at least one implant adjacent the vertebrae via the surgical pathway. Systems and implants are disclosed.

A method for treating a spine comprises the steps of: percutaneously delivering a first fastener along a pedicle trajectory disposed in alignment with a first vertebral level of vertebrae; fastening the first fastener with the first vertebral level adjacent a lateral portion of the vertebrae; percutaneously delivering a first spinal rod adjacent to the first fastener; connecting the first spinal rod with the first fastener; percutaneously delivering a second fastener along a cortical trajectory disposed in alignment with the first vertebral level; fastening the second fastener with the first vertebral level adjacent a contra-lateral portion of the vertebrae; percutaneously delivering a second spinal rod adjacent to the second fastener; and connecting the second spinal rod with the second fastener. Systems and implants are disclosed.

A method for treating a spine includes creating a single minimally invasive incision in tissue; manipulating a lateral portion without manipulating a contralateral portion of the tissue to deliver fasteners and a rod through the incision, the fasteners being delivered along cortical trajectories disposed in alignment with vertebral levels; fastening the fasteners with the vertebral levels adjacent the lateral portion; connecting the rod with the fasteners; manipulating the contralateral portion without manipulating the lateral portion to deliver fasteners and a rod through the incision, the fasteners being delivered along cortical trajectories disposed in alignment with the vertebral levels; fastening the fasteners with the vertebral levels adjacent the contralateral portion; and connecting the rod with the fasteners. Systems and implants are disclosed.
