Methods and systems for determining whether a software application that is executable by an electronic device is compliant under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) are provided. A software application is accessed over a network. A programmed computer processor is used to determine whether said software application, upon execution, is at or above an (i) access control threshold, (ii) audit control threshold, (iii) data integrity threshold, (iv) authentication threshold, and (v) transmission security threshold, which thresholds are minimum thresholds for HIPAA compliance. Additionally, a determination that said software application is HIPAA compliant is made if said software application, upon execution, is at or above (i) said access control threshold, (ii) audit control threshold, (iii) data integrity threshold, (iv) authentication threshold, and (v) transmission security threshold. Further, a determination as to whether said software application is HIPAA compliant is output.

Providing resources and information to communicate, capture and deliver by the caregivers (formal and informal), patients and healthcare providers communicate helps integrate essential data and care. Through the use of this mobile technology and associated devices vital information from informal caregivers, which is currently not regularly used in remotely located patients, can be captured and implemented in the decisions and adjustments to patients' care plans. In addition, the technology helps with adherence of patient specific treatment guidelines for home-based patients.

The system and mobile application allows the user/patient to interact with health care providers who are certified to work in a particular geographical region without hesitation. In the instant application a novel mobile technology powered by unique image analysis software based on machine learning process to evaluate the submitted images for diagnostic purposes. The ease of approaching a health care provider by using the mobile device and getting matched to the right healthcare provider is another feature of this mobile application. The ease of providing case history and images for diagnosis and treatment is also novel.
