A durable LED light engine includes a printed circuit board including LEDs mounted thereon positioned between a substantially U-shaped top enclosure and a bottom enclosure. Once assembled together, the combination of the substantially U-shaped top enclosure, the printed circuit board and the bottom enclosure are held together with a molding material.

A bus line LED module includes a printed circuit board on which LEDs are mounted and lens portion formed over the LEDs. A pair of wires is positioned beneath the printed circuit board within a bottom portion assembly to form a top portion assembly. A pair of windows within a bottom portion assembly enables access to a portion of the wires where a metal-to-metal contact to the metal inner portion of the wires is made. A pair of metal connectors extends from the printed circuit board to make metal-to-metal contact with the metal wires. A sealing connection is made between the top portion assembly and the bottom portion assembly.

A power system for a group of LED modules each of which includes a plurality of LEDs or series-connected LEDs, utilizes a plurality of polarized direct current power supplies with one electrical polarity separated, and the other electrical polarity commonly connected. Each individual LED, or each set of series-connected individual LEDs, in each of the LED modules, are connected in series to each of the direct power supplies and then to an opposite polarity to complete an electrical circuit.

Power system for an LED module including multiple LEDs

A system and method for interconnecting LED modules that receive electrical energy from a direct current electrical energy power supply includes a first type of mating connector to provide an input of direct current electrical energy to a printed circuit board contained within an interconnectable LED module and a second type of mating connector to provide an output of direct current electrical energy to and interconnecting with another interconnectable LED module. The second type of mating connector attaches to the first type of mating connector in the next LED module in a string of interconnectable LED modules.

Interconnectable LED module for use in a direct current circuit

A lamp including a two-sided source plate, a plurality of light sources, a lens, a diffuser plate, and a driver insulator is disclosed. One set of the light sources generates white light and is attached to one side of the source plate. Another set of the light sources generates colored light and is attached to the source plate's other side. The lens encapsulates the white light-generating set, and redirects that white light. The driver insulator and the diffuser plate are each in contact with the source plate's other side. The driver insulator, diffuser plate, and that side of the source plate define a light box region that contains the colored light-generating set of light sources. The driver insulator acts as a reflector, and the diffuser plate acts as a diffuser, such that colored light is dispersed from the light box region through the diffuser plate.
