A pressure regulator for gas distribution systems includes: a connection body for connection between an upstream pipe and a downstream pipe, the following elements being defined inside the connection body: an inlet duct an outlet duct, a high-pressure chamber connected to the inlet duct, a low-pressure chamber connected to the outlet duct, a passage opening between the high-pressure chamber and the low-pressure chamber, a movable shutter designed to obstruct the passage opening, components for moving the movable shutter in a controlled manner. The components for moving the movable shutter in a controlled manner include: a first main control head fixed to the connection body and configured to operate the movable shutter through a first control rod, a second auxiliary control head configured to operate the movable shutter through a second control rod fixed to the same movable shutter.

Pressure regulator for gas distribution system and pilot device for piloting pressure regulators

A method for piloting a pressure regulator for an operative gas, the pressure regulator having a flow duct for the operative gas; a shutter causing a pressure drop in the operative gas, from a feeding pressure to a delivery pressure; a motorisation chamber delimited by a first movable wall associated with the shutter so that an increase in the delivery pressure causes a narrowing of the shutter; an elastic element exerting on a first movable wall a force directed to counteract the pressure force exerted by the operative gas on the first movable wall and widening the shutter; a compensation chamber housing a compensation gas and at least partially delimited by a second movable wall connected to the shutter to enable transferring on it the pressure force of the compensation gas, the method including the operation of regulating, moment by moment, the pressure of the compensation gas as a function of the delivery pressure.

Gas pressure regulator and method for piloting said pressure regulator

A pilot device cooperates with a gas pressure regulator suitable for use in gas distribution systems and consists of: a head with two chambers separated by a first membrane, one chamber at the gas pressure regulator outlet pressure and the other at atmospheric pressure; a body with elastic means and an axial thrust unit acting on the first membrane and cooperating with a regulation unit having at the inlet a supply pressure and at the outlet the motorization gas which is transferred to the motorization chamber of the gas pressure regulator. The pilot device features a tank having a wall with a further membrane provided with the mechanical elastic setting means. Gas is conveyed into the tank with a load pressure to modify the thrust of the elastic setting means. The device has a closed compensation chamber at atmospheric pressure, having the further membrane in common with the tank.
