An example mechanical draft modular air cooled condenser includes a first condenser bundle panel, a second condenser bundle panel, a third condenser bundle panel, and a fourth condenser bundle panel. The example condenser also includes a fan positioned to create a draft to flow over the first, second, third, and fourth condenser bundle panels.

Modular air cooled condenser apparatus and method

The present invention relates to an air-cooled condenser apparatus for condensing a steam flow exiting a turbine from for example a power plant. The air-cooled condenser apparatus comprises a series of condenser modules, each module having a series of compact delta-type heat exchanger units and a series of fans. The air-cooled condenser apparatus further comprises a series of independent frame structures FRS(m) wherein the number of frame structures has a lower limit depending on the number of modules. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing an air-cooled condenser apparatus comprising steps of manufacturing the delta-type heat exchanger units in the factory, placing the units in a container for transportation and erecting the air-cooled condenser apparatus at a site of installation.

Air-cooled condenser apparatus and method

The present invention relates to a V-shaped heat exchanger for condensing exhaust steam from a turbine. The V-shaped heat exchanger comprises primary, secondary and tertiary single-row condensing tubes placed in a V-shaped geometry. A steam supply manifold supplies the exhaust steam to lower ends of the primary tubes and steam that is not condensed in the primary tubes is collected at upper ends of the primary tubes and transported to the secondary tubes using top connecting manifolds. Steam that is not condensed in the secondary tubes is further transported to the tertiary tubes using a bottom connection manifold. The tertiary tubes are coupled at their ends with an evacuation manifold for evacuating non-condensable gases.

Three-stage heat exchanger for an air-cooled condenser

Air-cooled condensers and air-cooled condenser streets for condensing exhaust steam from a turbine are disclosed. An example air-cooled condenser street includes one or more rows of V-shaped heat exchangers. Each row includes a main steam manifold to introduce exhaust steam into tube bundles that are placed in an inclined position such that condensate formed in the bundles flows back by gravitation to the main steam manifold. Top steam manifolds are connected to the upper end of respectively each of the tube bundles of the air-cooled condenser street. The series of parallel top steam manifolds are forming a support assembly for supporting one or more fan decks. The fan decks support a plurality of fans to induce an air draft in the V-shaped heat exchangers.

Modular air cooled condenser apparatus and related methods are disclosed. An example mechanical draft modular air cooled condenser includes a succession of a first condenser bundle panel, a second condenser bundle panel, a third condenser bundle panel, and a fourth condenser bundle panel. The example condenser also includes a first, second, third, and fourth condensate headers connected to respective ones of the first, second, third, and fourth condenser bundle panels. The example condenser also includes a fan positioned to create a draft to flow over the first, second, third, and fourth condenser bundle panels.

The air-cooled condenser according to the invention comprises an air-flow diffuser () having an air inlet side connected to an upper side of the cylindrical duct () of the ducted fan and an air outlet side coupled with the deck cover such that, when in operation, an air-flow generated by the fan is flowing through the air-flow diffuser before entering the plenum space via a deck opening () in the deck cover. The cross sectional area and the height of the air-flow diffuser are optimized to reduce the electrical power consumption of the fan.

Modular air cooled condenser apparatus and related methods are disclosed. An example mechanical draft modular air cooled condenser disclosed herein includes an example condenser module that includes a plenum and a first condenser bundle having a first set of tubes having first ends and second ends and a first condensate header connected to the second ends of the tubes. The example condenser module also includes a second condenser bundle having a second set of tubes having third ends and fourth ends and a second condensate header connected to the fourth ends of the second set of tubes. In addition, the condenser module includes a third condenser bundle having a third set of tubes having fifth ends and sixth ends and a third condensate header connected to the sixth ends of the third set of tubes. In addition, the condenser module includer a support frame that supports the first, second, third, and fourth condenser bundles.

A mechanical draft cooling tower employs air cooled condenser modules and operates by mechanical draft to exchange heat between atmospheric air and steam. The cooling tower utilizes a modular air cooled condenser with heat exchange deltas having tube bundles that are manufactured and assembled prior to being shipped to the tower site.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for an air bypass system for a natural draft cooling tower that employs a wet heat exchanger, a direct dry heat exchanger or an indirect dry heat exchanger to extract heat from a heated fluid, which is usually liquid or steam.

The system employs a steam inlet conduit provides steam to the first and second streets. The air cooled condenser system has a standard vacuum system for providing suction pressure to the first and second street. The air cooled condenser system also has an auxiliary vacuum system that provides suction pressure to the first and second streets.

The present invention relates to a natural draft cooling tower that employs an air cooled condenser. The aforementioned cooling tower operates by natural draft and achieves the exchange of heat between two fluids such as atmospheric air, ordinarily, and another fluid which is usually steam. The aforementioned cooling tower utilizes a central steam duct riser supplying steam to perimeter ducting via radial ducting.
