A sealed connection system for connecting a pipe carrying a hot fluid to a plastic member. The plastic member has a wall having an orifice extending therethrough. The sealed connection includes an internal projection formed in the wall and projecting into the orifice, and an annular seal lining the internal projection. The connection further includes a lip positioned on an exterior surface of the wall and at least partially surrounding the orifice. Also provided is a heat shield bell fastened to the pipe and having a flared portion. The flared portion has an external flange bearing on the annular seal. The bell is insertable into the orifice. Further, the connection includes a pin insertable into the lip for fixing the external flange against the annular seal.

A device for injection moulding plastic articles by the fusible-core technique includes a unit (1) for moulding fusible cores, a unit (2) for injection moulding, a unit (3) for melting and for recovering the fusible cores and a unit (4) for washing the moulded parts. The first two units are served by a mobile transfer robot (5) equipped with a rotatable arm having a ripper adapted to catch a fusible core and a gripper adapted to catch a moulded part. The two latter units are served by a stationary robot for melting (8) which interacts with the transfer robot (5). By programming the various functions performed by the robots, it is possible to carry out in parallel the moulding cycles of fusible cores and of injection moulding of the desired parts with a minimum of non-productive time and hence to obtain an automatic production with a high yield.

A method for molding a fusible core from a molten metal, including filling a mold by forcing back molten metal under pressure into the mold by means of a positive displacement pump equipped with a pressure regulator and having an output rate, total filling of the mold corresponding to a manometric height; measuring the pressure of the forced-back metal; adapting the output rate of the positive displacement pump so that the growing pressure imposed on the forced-back molten metal does not undergo any sudden variation during filling of the mold; and limiting the pressure exerted on the molten metal to a maximum pressure value which is slightly higher than the manometric height.
