Low-friction sealing assembly for a vehicle wheel-hub unit inserted inside an annular interspace defined between a flanged rotating element and a stationary element, coaxial with each other, of the wheel-hub unit to protect at least one ring of revolving bodies arranged between the stationary element and the rotating element, and having a first annular screen and a second annular screen during use integral with the rotating element and with the stationary element; and an annular seal having lips that extend axially and radially projecting from the first screen towards the second screen inside an annular chamber defined by the first and second screens; the sealing assembly being a multi-stage sealing assembly provided with a first inner collecting stage designed to collect and expel some of the contaminants.

Low-friction sealing assembly for a wheel-hub unit and wheel-hub unit equipped with such a sealing assembly

A seal arrangement for sealing a radial gap between an inner component and an outer component coaxially mounted around the inner component is provided. The inner component rotates about a rotation axis. The arrangement provides a radial seal connectably mounted to the inner component. The radial seal has a sealing lip that bears against a counterface formed by a radially inner surface of the outer component. When the seal arrangement is stationary, the sealing lip bears against the counterface with an initial lip force. The sealing lip is pivotably arranged in a radial cross section around a pivot point, and is in connection with a counterweight. The sealing lip and the counterweight are arranged in different axial regions from the pivot point and are adapted such that during rotation of the radial seal, a greater centrifugal force acts on the counterweight than on the sealing lip.

Dynamic radial seal

A sealing assembly insertable between a stationary outer ring and a rotating inner ring of a bearing or hub bearing unit, having a first C-shaped shield supported by the inner ring and a second L-shaped shield supported by the outer ring. The first shield has a first annular sealing element having a first annular lip that extends axially cantilevered from the flange portion of the second shield in a position facing a radially outer sleeve shaped portion of the first shield and a second annular lip, elastically deformable, arranged radially on the inside of the first lip and which cooperates in contact with a radially inner sleeve shaped portion of the first shield, which carries a second sealing element having a third annular lip, which extends axially cantilevered from the first shield and towards the second shield and which is radially interposed between the first and the second lip.

Sealing assembly for rolling bearings, in particular for a hub bearing unit of vehicles and associated hub bearing unit

A sealing arrangement, for sealing of a radial gap between relatively rotatable inner and out components, whereby the inner component is rotational about an axis of rotation and the outer component is coaxially arranged around the inner component. The sealing arrangement comprises: a dynamic seal part mountable to the inner component; a static seal part mountable to the outer component; and first and second labyrinth seals, each being formed by a gap between at least one set of opposing surfaces on the static and dynamic seal parts, and a lip seal arranged radially between the first and second labyrinth seal. The lip seal comprises a sealing lip connected to the dynamic seal part and bears against a radially oriented counterface on the static seal part. The sealing lip has a longitudinal extension in a radial cross section that extends towards the rotation axis at an angle between 10&#xb0; and 80&#xb0;.

Low-friction dynamic seal

A rolling bearing comprising an outer ring, an inner ring, at least one row of rolling elements that are disposed radially between the rings, at least one seal forming a first sealing component that is fixed to one of the rings and engages with the other ring, and at least one flange forming a second sealing component that is fixed to the other ring and is offset axially with respect to the seal on the outer side of the bearing. At least one of the first and second sealing components comprises at least two annular ribs, the other sealing component being mounted axially in contact therewith. At least one closed annular space is delimited by the ribs and by the other sealing component. At least one lubricant is disposed inside the space.

Rolling bearing comprising a sealing flange

A seal for sealing a space between a shaft and a housing, includes a base member coupled with one of the housing and the shaft and a generally annular, elastomeric sealing member sealingly contactable with the other one of the housing and the shaft. The sealing member is coupled with the base member such that the sealing member is circumferentially strained to reduce friction between the sealing member and the other one of the housing and the shaft. The seal assembly is preferably formed by providing a base member having a generally annular carrier portion and a generally annular, elastomeric sealing member, coupling the sealing member with the annular portion of the base member, and plastically deforming at least a section of the base member carrier portion such that the sealing member is circumferentially strained.
