The rapid assistance device applies to a free turbine engine of an aircraft having at least a first free turbine engine provided with a gas generator and associated with an electrical machine capable of operating both as a starter and as a generator, the first engine being capable of being put into a standby mode or into an unwanted shut-down mode, the electrical machine being powered from on on-board electrical energy power supply network. The device further includes at least one electrical energy storage member adapted to be electrically connected to the electrical machine associated with the first engine in order to provide a burst of assistance to the gas generator of that engine. The electrical energy storage member constitutes a non-rechargeable 'primary' energy storage member that can be used once only. The device includes a system for activating the electrical energy storage member and a device for coupling the electrical energy storage member with an electrical power supply system of the electrical machine.

Rapid assistance device for a free turbine engine of an aircraft

The invention relates to an on-board assembly for producing and storing electricity, including at least one hydrogenerator having an output line connected to at least one electrical battery having predetermined electrical load parameters. The hydrogenerator includes a load-bearing structure onto which a generator and an impeller, secured to a shaft for driving a rotor of the generator, are mounted. Said assembly is characterized in that the generator is an excitation generator, and the hydrogenerator includes a rectifier circuit, connecting the generator to the output line, and at least one circuit for exciting the generator. The excitation circuit is connected to an excitation current regulator controlled by a control unit set up so that the generator provides a load current consistent with the electrical load parameters on the basis of a resisting torque of the generator, said torque being predetermined so as to limit drag of the impeller.

A charging system is provided with a device and a first energy source remotely located from each other. The device has a second energy source to be charged and that receives energy from a power supply of the first energy source. The device further has a measuring circuit. The measuring circuit provides an error signal obtained from an electrical quantity of the second energy source. The first energy source also has a regulation circuit coupled to the power supply. A high impedance control input of the regulation circuit receives the error signal. In response to this error signal, the regulation circuit regulates the voltage of the power supply.

A circuit for high speed control a field effect power transistors. This circuit has a transformer with a primary winding and a secondary winding. The secondary winding transmits control signals to gates of the field effect power transistors. An energy storage structure is coupled to the transformer, and stores energy required for controlling the gates of the field effect power transistors. This energy is stored during an inactive phase of the control signal. A transmission structure is coupled to the transformer, and is fed with energy stored in the energy storage structure. In this way, the transmission structure uses energy stored in the energy storage structure to supply the control signals to the gates of the field effect power transistors. Therefore, the secondary of the transformer is not loaded during this time. At other times, the transmission structure isolates the output of the transformer from the rest of the circuit.
