A crane having a luffing jib and a lifting cylinder includes a cylinder body and a movable rod hinged on the jib to raise and lower the jib, and a locking device adapted to cooperate with the lifting cylinder to mechanically lock the rod in a deployed holding position and block the jib in a raised holding configuration, and further including a spacer hinged on the jib and supporting an abutment, the spacer configured for pivoting between a release position wherein the spacer is offset, authorizing the movable rod to be displaced freely, and a locking position wherein the spacer is folded so that the abutment is able to bear on the cylinder body to fixedly maintain the movable rod in the deployed holding position.

A lifting unit includes a jib foot forming a proximal part of a jib in a service configuration, a counter jib supporting a balancing ballast, a securing part between the jib foot and the counter jib to secure the lifting unit to a mast, and a cylinder connected to the jib foot such that the jib foot is movable between a lowered position and a lifted position. A height access device enables motorized access to the driving station of a tower crane atop a mast formed of superposed mast elements. It includes a lift cabin installed inside the mast of the crane and movable vertically along the mast. The height access devices further includes a working platform positioned above and separably connected to the lift cabin. A coupling device provides a non-permanent connection of the working platform to the lift cabin and immobilizes the working platform relative to the mast at a required height. The height access device enables the crane driver to ascend and descend with the lift cabin alone when disconnected from the working platform and with the lift cabin and working platform together, particularly during the assembly and dismantling of the mast.

The invention is concerned with the demountable assembly of latticework jib elements comprising upper and lower chords connected to one another by means of triangulation bars. In the region of the upper chords, there is provided an assembly by shackle, tenon and a connecting shaft, with abutment and relative positioning means. In the region of the lower chords, there are provided centering pegs and a locking assembly consisting of two connections spaced apart and having clamping and locking means. This device is used for assembling the jib elements and counterjib elements of tower cranes, in particular those having a jib without a masthead and without a tie.

The cab/pivot unit comprises an upper mast element associated with a pivot, an access platform which extends horizontally at one side of the mast element, and a driver's cab mounted pivotably about a vertical axis located at the side of the mast element and linked to this element. The cab is orientable manually (arrows FF) through approximately 90&#xb0; between an operating position, in which it is located in the extension of the access platform, in front of the mast element, and a transport position, in which this cab is folded above the platform, against the mast element. The invention is used for tower cranes with a 'suspended' cab.

For a lateral face of the lattice girder, defined by an upper chord and a lower chord, the triangulation comprises compression bars substantially perpendicular to the chords, oblique tension bars of smaller length connecting the top of a compression bar to the lower chord, and other oblique tension bars of greater length, also connecting the top of a compression bar to the lower chord, at a point located further ahead toward the base of the next compression bar. This triangulation is used, in particular, for the jib and counterjib elements of tower cranes.

The invention relates to the mounting of the revolving part of a tower crane, at the top of the mast. A first assembly, formed by the counterjib ( ), its tie rod ( ) and a rear part ( ) of the jib bearer ( ), made in two separable parts, is pre-built on the ground, then lifted up and assembled by pinning (at ) on the revolving pivot or the mast-cab ( ) and is held temporarily in place by retaining link rods ( ). Another assembly, formed by the jib ( ), its tie rods ( ) and the front part ( ) of the jib bearer, is also pre-built on the ground, then lifted up and assembled by pinning (at ) on the revolving pivot or the mast-cab ( ). The respective tops ( ) of the front part ( ) and of the rear part ( ) of the jib bearer ( ) are then joined together by temporary pinning along an axis ( ), followed by definitive pinning along an axis ( ).

Method and device for mounting the masthead of tower cranes

The device provides dismantlable assembly between the top of the upper element of the mast of a tower crane and the fixed pivot which serves to support and to orientate the rotating upper part of the crane comprising the jib. Fishplates are fixed at the four corners of the pivot, of square horizontal section, in the direction of the diagonal, the fishplates lying within the permissible size for transporting this pivot. Other fishplates are fixed to the four corners of the top of the mast element, on the inside of the uprights of this element. The fishplates have holes which come into alignment, and through which removable connecting pins are fitted.
