The present invention provides a shielding assembly for a connector assembly including a connector and a counterpart connector. The shielding assembly includes a shield member having a shield wall and at least one spring element for making electrical contact between the shield wall and the counterpart connector along a first electrical conduction path in the mated situation of the connector and the counterpart connector. The spring element includes a first portion being configured for making electrical contact with the counterpart connector and a second portion for providing a spring force to the first portion. The spring element is configured for having at least a first position in the unmated situation of the connector and the counterpart connector and a second position in the mated situation of the connector and the counterpart connector, such that in the first position the second portion is arranged at a first separation from the shield wall and in the second position the second portion is arranged at a second separation from the shield wall, wherein the second separation is larger than the first separation.

Shielded connector

A shielding cage for receiving a plurality of electronic modules includes a bottom cage portion and a plurality of independent upper cage portions each one of which comprising a top wall and two lateral walls adapted to cooperate with the bottom cage portion. Furthermore, each of said upper cage portions defines with the bottom cage portion a respective compartment having an inner cavity for receiving an electronic module, and a subdivision of said bottom cage portion provides for a bottom wall of said compartment.

Electrical shielding cage and system thereof

The connector of the present invention includes a base having a plurality of terminals for contacting the card and a cover for holding the card. In an embodiment, the base has two resilient plates extending from the base, each of the plates has a distal end at which an inner hinging portion is formed. The cover has an outer hinging portion engaged with the inner hinging portions to form a hinge such that the cover is pivotally mounted on the base and movable in relation to the base. Each of the resilient plates is L-shaped such that the hinge is deflectable from the base.

Card connector

The invention relates to a circuit board connector capable of establishing an electrical connection between circuits on a circuit board and a mating electrical connector at a mating side of said circuit board connector. The circuit board connector includes a connector housing accommodating a plurality of terminals for establishing said electrical connection and an electrically conductive shell at least partially enclosing said connector housing. The shell includes a top wall and a rear wall, wherein said rear wall is connected to said top wall and is arranged opposite to said mating side. The shell further has a first and second extension connected to opposite sides of said rear wall and bent with respect to said rear wall to extend towards said mating side. First and second mounting posts are connected, respectively, to said first and second extension and third and fourth mounting posts are connected to said rear wall, wherein said mounting posts are arranged for mounting said shell on said circuit board.

Shell for circuit board connector

A connector comprises a housing of insulating material and a plurality of signal and ground contacts regularly arranged in rows and columns within the housing. All contacts have first and second ends and an intermediate section. The first ends each include a connection section. The housing is provided with a front will having a grid of entrance openings leading to the connection sections. The housing is provided with an air chamber and all contacts extend along a part of their length through this air chamber.

Connector

Connector casing for coaxial cables

A connector assembly for printed circuit boards comprises a first connector having a first housing of insulating material and a plurality of male signal and ground contacts regularly arranged in rows and columns. The connector assembly further comprises a second connector having a second housing of insulating material and a plurality of female signal and ground contacts regularly arranged in rows and columns. In each row and each column of both connectors all contacts are arranged at an equal pitch in row and column direction, each row of contacts containing only signal or only ground contacts, respectively. The rows of ground contacts are staggered in row direction by half the pitch of the contacts. Four rows of signal contacts and four rows of ground contacts are provided. Both outer rows of contacts contain signal contacts and a further row of ground contacts is provided centrally between the two central rows of signal contacts. The ground contacts of said further row of ground contacts each lie in a column of signal contacts.

Connector assembly for printed circuit boards

A connector for printed circuit boards comprises a housing of insulating material and a plurality of signal and ground contacts regularly arranged in rows and columns. At least a plurality of said contacts are provided with press-fit terminations for connection to the printed circuit board. The housing is provided with shoulders, each of the shoulders cooperating with a rear section of a contact having a press-fit termination. Each shoulder engages a rear section at a location aligned with the corresponding press-fit termination.

Connector for printed circuit boards

The present invention has for a subject a coupling connector of the type having a front insulating block (3); elbow electrical contact elements (5) having front contact regions (50) lodged in openings made in the front insulating block, as well as regions forming elbows and rear contact terminations (55); a rear insulating block (2), rear insulating block (2) having a central regions (20) and two lateral branches (21, 22); and a front box (4) for shielding and connection with a connector or complementary plug unit. According to the invention, tabs (42, 43) or similar components are provided, arranged peripherally on front box (4) and anchoring groves made peripherally on rear (2) and front (3) insulating blocks, so as to join them with front box (4), by a crimping operation.

Coupling connector to a complementary plug unit

Process for assembly of a connector incorporating an insulator (1) comprising a front part (2) in which working portions (30) of a plurality of contact elements (30, 33, 34) are inserted, these contact elements comprising bent rear portions (32), and distal ends (33) fitted into slots (21) in a rear wing (20) of the insulator (1). The process comprises immobilizing the distal ends (33) by thermoforming in their respective slots (21) without addition of material. The connector thus produced incorporates folds of material (40) solidly attached to the edges (23) of the corresponding slots (21), thereby allowing immobilization and precise position-retention of the contacts (30).

Process for assembling a connector incorporating curved contact elements

An overmolded electrical connector including an insulative block, the insulative block receiving connecting members and being mechanically joined to a rear connection housing, the insulative block being protected by a first metal half-shell and a second metal half-shell adapted to be coupled together to form a shielded housing having electrical continuity with the rear connection housing, the rear connection housing being overmolded with an insulative material jacket. Both the first metal half-shell and the second metal half-shell are twinned and include a female member and a male snap-fastener member for coupling the first metal half-shell and the second metal half-shell together in pairs. At least one of the female member of the first metal half-shell, the male snap-fastener member of the first metal half-shell, the female member of the second metal half-shell and the male snap-fastener member of the second metal half-shell includes an area which is at least in-part elastically deformable and adapted to face an aperture formed in the complementary member of the complementary metal half-shell. At least one of the female member of the first metal half-shell and the female member of the second metal half-shell includes a flexible tang cut out from a lateral skirt of the corresponding metal half-shell and a seat for snap-fastener engagement with the male member of the complementary metal half-shell, the flexible tang having a two-fold attachment and vent function.
