An arm for suspending a vibrating member is disclosed. The arm has low bending stiffness in two mutually perpendicular first and second directions (x and z), and high stiffness in compression and in traction in a third direction (y) perpendicular to the first and second directions. The arm comprises a blade made of a composite material which is fixed at one end to the vibrating member and fixed at an opposite end to a second member. The cross-sectional area along the length of the blade is constant and rectangular in shape. The opposed fixed ends of the blade are flat and their widths extend in mutually orthogonal planes in the first and second directions (x and z).

A hydraulic antivibratory sleeve comprises, on the the one hand, two rigid tubular frames (1, 2) with an axis X, one surrounding the other, joined together by an elastomer body (3) shaped so as to form therewith at least two sealed pockets (A, B) diametrically opposite in a direction Y perpendicular to axis X and communicating together through an narrow channel (4). The assembly formed by these pockets and the channel is filled with liquid. The sleeve includes, on the other hand, at one of its axial ends, an annular work-chamber (C) defined partially by a resilient wall (7) resisting axial compression. This sleeve further comprises at its other axial end an annular compensation chamber (D) defined partially by a flexible membrane (12), a narrow channel (13) connecting the two annular chambers directly together and the assembly formed by the channel and the two chambers being filled with liquid.

Hydraulic antivibratory sleeves

A torsion bar bearing is disclosed, comprising a relatively rigid frame (1) which can be locked on the bar and having inwardly resilient material ribs (5) parallel to the axis of the bar and adapted to grip it when the frame is locked. A resilient material pad (6) more flexible than the ribs is fixed externally to the frame (1) for absorbing the torsion forces. The frame may be formed of two half-shells (1a, 1b) connected together by a hinge (2) and/or being snap-fitted one on the other by a snap-fit mechanism (3, 4) provided opposite the hinge or on each side of the half-shells.

Resilient joint with differentiated radial rigidity, of the type comprising a resilient material block (3) bonded between two tubular frames (1, 2) which are coaxial at rest, and which may be caused to pivot with respect to each other about their axis, said resilient material block (3) being then subjected to a shearing action under twisting, this block further including, along its periphery, variations of section so as to have unequal rigidity under compression in at least two different radial directions, characterized in that said variations of section are progressive, thus resulting in a thickness of resilient material (3)--measured in directions parallel to said axis--which is progressively variable between ridges (12) and hollows (13), without interruption of continuity.

Resilient joint with differentiated radial stiffness

A resilient support with anisotropic stiffnesses is provided particularly for bodywork suspensions, comprising as main resilient element at least one beam (1) extending in a transverse direction (y), the ends (3) of this beam (1) being secured to a first frame (6) adapted to be fixed to one of said assemblies and its middle part to a second frame (11) adapted to be fixed to the other assembly, and in that the cross section of this beam (1) has a shape such that at the level of the second beam (11) it has the desired stiffnesses, particularly in the longitudinal direction (x axis) and in the direction of the main load (z axis).

Resilient support with anisotropic stiffnesses particularly for bodywork

The support sleeve comprises two rigid coaxial and concentric armatures of revolution joined to one another by a body of elastomer adhered to the latter and shaped so as to form at least two fluid-tight pockets. These pockets communicate with one another through a throttled passage and are filled with liquid as well as said passage. Bearing surfaces adapted to come into radial abutment against one another in the direction of hydraulic working of the sleeve during the exertion of strong radial forces between the two armatures in this direction, are provided respectively on these two armatures and are positioned axially outside the pockets.
