A method and a system are provided implementing a mechanism for relaying by all the nodes, on all the networks and sub-networks connected and defined by the routing directive: as soon as a number of cells 'n' of different index have been received, whatever the sender thereof, making it possible to reconstruct the message and until, on each of the sub-networks, a predefined number of cells of different index has been sent or received. The relaying comprises decoding the message received and recoding it by a sequence of the unique fountain code on each sending of the same message whatever the relay node.

System and method for transmitting data

Provided is a method for controlling exchanges of data streams between at least one source connected to a hybrid wide area telecommunication network via a local area access network and at least one recipient connected to the wide area telecommunication network via a remote access network. The method includes the steps of: setting new transfer rules through the analysis of the streams, dynamically creating at least one additional stream exchange path from the new transfer rules and the access rules in force, applying on the additional path burn-in, securization and optimization mechanisms for the stream transfers between the local area access network and the remote access network, and transferring each new stream to the recipient via the additional path according to the new transfer rules.

A communication method in a wireless network is provided. The method includes, during the transmission of a data block from a source node to a destination node, the following steps: a node, having stored a set of segments of the block, selects a first adjacent node; determines an appropriate segment size for a transfer to the first adjacent node; reformats at least one segment from the set of segment(s) based on the determined segment size; and sends at least the reformatted segment to the first determined adjacent node; the method being characterized in that the node detects a modification of the links between the node and its adjacent nodes, and following that detection, selects a second adjacent node, stops the transmission to the first adjacent node of the set of segments stored before the detection, determines an updated appropriate segment size for a transfer to the second determined adjacent node, reformats at least one segment from the set of segment(s) not yet transmitted to the first adjacent node based on the updated size and transmits the at least one reformatted segment to the second adjacent node.

A device for ATM cell switching having failure tolerance. The device is divided into two types of equipment modules. The first type includes connecting modules while the second type includes two branching and managing modules, one operating in an active mode while the other operates in a passive mode. An accessing device is implanted in each connector. Devices to execute the ATM layer function are almost identically implanted in each connector and in each of the two branching and managing modules. A supervision bus connects both types of modules to ensure quick and automatic reconfiguration of the device in case of failure in one of its components. A process for detecting upstream congestion within an ATM switch. The switch includes several junctions linked together by a cross-connector. In each input junction, the number of incoming cells bound for a same specified output port of a junction are counted. Results of the count supplied by the input junctions are transferred to the output port. Results of the counts in the output junction are aggregated and a congestion is declared in the output port if the aggregate number of cells is greater than a specified threshold value.
