A method for determining a configuration setting of a source of ionizing radiation reducing a radiation dose absorbed by a patient and a practitioner in a medical operating room during a procedure. Prior to the procedure a database of maps of simulated propagation and scattering of ionizing radiation in a model of the medical operating room is obtained for different configuration settings. During the procedure, a position of the practitioner is determined. After determining a set of configuration settings of the source enabling the production of an image of a target anatomical structure a radiation dose absorbed by the patient and the practitioner is determined using the maps from the database. A recommended configuration setting for which a combined radiation dose is reduced is then outputted.

Method for determining a configuration setting of a source of ionizing radiation

A master interface device for remotely controlling at least one instrument mounted in an endoscope. The device includes at least one control handle device in the form of a subassembly able to be manipulated in the same degrees of freedom as the associated control instrument. The control device includes on the one hand a gripping and manoeuvring shaft, designed for gripping with the whole hand by the operator, and on the other hand a mounting bracket supporting said shaft. Translation and pivoting of the bracket controls respectively translation and rotation around itself of the associated instrument, and the pivoting of the shaft relative to the bracket controls the bending of the end of the instrument concerned.

A motorized, modular instrumentation device and an endoscopy system including such device. The motorized, modular instrumentation device includes at least one operational unit mounted on at least one support structure and integrating a motorized medical instrument module including, first, an elongated medical instrument with a tool arranged on one distal end, it being possible to bend the corresponding end portion of the instrument, and second, at least one electrical actuating element controlling the operation of the tool and/or the bending of the distal end portion, via transmission elements extending within the elongated body of the instrument. A device for controlled translational displacement of an elongated element that terminates in a frontal functional end, in particular an instrument/tool that is designed to be brought to an internal site in a patient, more particularly an exploratory instrument/surgical tool placed in a catheter or in an operating channel or working channel of a flexible endoscope, whereby the device includes a linear actuator that acts at the rear end of the elongated element that is located opposite its frontal functional end. The device that is characterized in that the actuator includes of a direct-drive electromagnetic linear motor with a shaft that moves in translation relative to a stator and that drives the elongated element, whereby the shaft can also be coupled to a rotary motor.

Device for the controlled translational displacement of an elongate element

A device for supporting and controlling the translational movement of an elongated body, the body extending along the longitudinal axis thereof in the form of a rod, such as a needle intended for a percutaneous medical procedure. The device is designed to be mounted to a support that can be controlled in terms of position and orientation, and includes: (i) a first member for gripping the body, whose movement can be controlled in the translation direction with a pre-determined maximum stroke; and (ii) a second fixed member which can guide the elongated body when the body is moved by the first mobile gripping member and which can maintain the body in position when the body is not engaged with the first member.

The robotic device has three kinematic sub-assemblies that are mutually combined in series and include, a first sub-assembly in the form of a rotary-articulation mechanism corresponding to a serial-type, spherical kinematic arrangement with three degrees of freedom, a second sub-assembly in the form of a mechanism with linear translation along an axis, and a third sub-assembly in the form of a second rotary-articulation mechanism, integral with the moving part of the second sub-assembly and also corresponding to a serial-type spherical kinematic arrangement with three degrees of freedom.
