A method and an apparatus are provided for the production of heat-activable adhesive pellets that can be formed into elements for holding an article to a surface such as a glass surface. The apparatus and method for the manufacture of the heat-activable pellets include the steps of introducing at least a first component comprising at least one difunctional polymer with at least one multifunctional polymer into an extruder, heating the first component, introducing a second component comprising isocyanate and a powder flow enhancer (such as fumed silica) at a point downstream of the introduction of the first component, combining the first and second components in the extruder to form a flowable compound, pelletizing the extruded compound exiting the extruder by cutting to form heat-activable adhesive pellets, and drying the pellets. In one embodiment of the disclosed invention a catalyst is applied to the pellets to form catalyst-coated heat-activable adhesive pellets. In another embodiment of the disclosed invention a catalyst is added into the extruder to form catalyst-containing heat-activable adhesive pellets.

System and method for manufacturing heat-activable adhesive pellets

A device for displaceably holding a glass pane () in a sliding rail has at least one fastening part () to which a hot-melt adhesive cushion () is fitted and which has at least one locking element (). Furthermore, there is an elongate holding rail () which can be brought into engagement with the or each locking element (). The or each locking element () can be moved between a locking position, in which the or each fastening part () is connected fixedly to the holding rail (), and a release position in which the engagement with the holding rail () is released and the glass pane () can be removed from the holding rail (). As a result, repair due to wear of the holding rail () is less cost-intensive, since the glass pane () is connected releasably to the holding rail ().

A fastening arrangement comprises a fastening element provided with a fastening portion having a planar outer side surface, and a hot-melt adhesive that can be melted in order to fasten the fastening element to a substrate. The fastening element is provided with a receiving recess that is open in the direction of the planar outer side surface. A retaining structure is provided in the region of the receiving recess. The hot melt adhesive is configured as a compact whose shape is adapted to the retaining structure such that the compact can be connected to the fastening element. The fastening arrangement can thus be prefabricated without incipient melting of the hot-melt adhesive.

Fixing device

The invention relates to a method for coating adhesive surfaces of fixing elements with a hot-melt adhesive, and to a device for carrying out said coating method. Base surfaces () of recesses () are formed by tappets (), whereby the lateral walls thereof are displacably guided in the recesses (). A displaceable container () which is used to fill up the adhesive powder in the recesses () is arranged next to the recesses (). The side edges () of the container () cover a working plate (). A slit () which is used to receive the securing element () is arranged on the other side of the recesses (), said slit being provided with continuous holes () for the tappets (). A pressure stamp () provided with a pressure plate () which is lowered onto the securing element () is arranged over the recesses (). A heating station () which is used to heat the securing element prior to heating the recesses () to the desired heating temperature is arranged at a distance from the slits ().

Method and device for coating adhesive surfaces of fixing elements with a hot-melt adhesive

A tubular coupling element for producing a glued joint with a fluid line and a method for producing such a glued joint. The coupling element includes an inner tube that is insertable into a fluid line and an outer tube that is constructed concentric to the inner tube and integrally connected to the rear end of the inner tube by a connecting wall. An annular gap is present between the two tubes and is designed to receive an end section of the fluid line and a hot-melt type adhesive in a compacted solid form shaped as a ring. A connection between the coupling element and the fluid lines can be easily established by first introducing the adhesive in the annular gap and then melting it by rapidly supplying heat while the end section of the fluid line is pressed into the annular gap of the coupling element.

The present invention is used for setting and bonding fasteners to support surfaces. The fasteners are provided with connecting surfaces which are coated with a dry hot-melt-type adhesive on the bare side thereof. The adhesive can be reactivated by means of heat treatment. The setting device includes a housing () having a receiving component () that is displaceably guided therein and is used for the fastener () as well as means for quickly heating the hot-melt-type adhesive, lowering the receiving component () and pressing the adherent () after the adhesive has been melt on. Heating is carried out by means of hot air (H) which is supplied passing the housing () and in that the receiving component () is surrounded by a closed wall () that extends from the hot air discharge location in the housing () to the fastener (). The hot air (H) can thus be conveyed to the adhering hot-melt-type adhesive before or while the fastener () rests on the support surface ().

Device for setting and bonding fasteners onto support surfaces

A plug-and-socket connection for water-cooled, current-bearing lines, in particular, to bipolar, high-frequency current conductors for the induction heating of tools is provided. The plug-and-socket connection allows both the electric circuit for the power supply and the circuit for the cooling water to be rapidly and easily closed by hand, or to be interrupted, for example, for maintenance work. The plug-and-socket connection includes a female element and a male element which contain chambers and ducts opening into the chambers that supply the cooling water. The ducts come into contact with one another when the plug-and-socket connection is in the interconnected position. The chambers are in direct contact with the water tubes, which are provided for supplying the cooling water. The backflow of cooling water occurs via a direct connection between a water tube which supplies the male element with cooling water and another water tube which conveys the cooling water away from the female element. Two contact sockets of an electrical plug-and-socket connection are also fixed in the female element, whilst two contact pins which mate with the contact sockets are fixed in the male element. The contact sockets and contact pins are connected to electrical lines for the power supply. The lines are in turn guided through the water tubes.

Upwardly from the inductor are means to press the adhesive bolts (,), which are inside the inductor (,), in the assembly position (,) on the supporting surfaces (,).
