A watercraft includes a deck, a hull supporting the deck, and a barrier structure. The barrier structure includes: a frame connected to at least one of the deck and the hull and at least partially surrounding a portion of the deck; and a pliable sheet wall connected to the frame. The frame includes an upper portion including a rail for grabbing by a user's hand; and a lower portion connected to the at least one of the deck and the hull. The lower portion and the upper portion are connected to one another. The pliable sheet wall is stretched across at least a portion of the frame so as to extend between the upper and lower portions of the frame. A barrier structure is also contemplated.

A watercraft has a hull, a deck, an engine compartment, an engine disposed in the engine compartment, a steering assembly, a jet pump, a venturi connected to the jet pump, a variable trim system (VTS) support rotationally mounted relative to the venturi about a VTS axis, a steering nozzle rotationally mounted to the VTS support about a steering axis, and a gate rotationally mounted relative to the venturi about a gate axis. The gate is operatively connected to the VTS support such that rotation of the gate about the gate axis results in rotation of the VTS support about the VTS axis. An actuator is operatively connected to the gate to rotate the gate about the gate axis. The gate is operatively connected between the actuator and the VTS support. A jet propulsion system and a variable trim system and gate assembly are also disclosed.

Trim and reverse system for a watercraft jet propulsion system

A sealing unit longitudinally comprises first and second sealing sub-units disposed around first and second portions of a driveshaft of a marine propulsion system of a watercraft. The first sealing sub-unit is sealingly connected to a front wall of the hull and the engine casing. The second sealing sub-unit is sealingly connected to the driveshaft and a crankshaft. The second sealing sub-unit is disposed at least partially inside the first sealing sub-unit. An inside of the first sealing sub-unit is in fluid communication with a water intake ramp. An inside of the second sealing sub-unit is in fluid communication with an interior of an engine. The first sealing sub-unit prevents fluid communication between the water intake ramp and a portion of an inside of the hull. The second sealing sub-unit prevents fluid communication between the engine, the inside of the hull, and the water intake ramp.

A watercraft hull has a hull body defining a bow, a transom, and a longitudinal centerline extending from the bow to the transom along a center of the hull body. The hull body has an inner surface and an outer surface. A plurality of ribs extends at an angle to the longitudinal centerline on the inner surface.

Watercraft hull

A method of indicating a deceleration of a watercraft is disclosed. The method comprises creating a spray of water using a reverse gate of the watercraft. The spray of water extends above a water level of a body of water in which the watercraft operates. The spray of water is created when the reverse gate of the watercraft is in a lowered position and the watercraft is decelerating. An alternate method comprises creating a spray of water using a reverse gate of the watercraft only when decelerating the watercraft. A watercraft for carrying out at least one of the methods is also disclosed.

Method of indicating a deceleration of a watercraft

A watercraft has a jet pump and a venturi. A variable trim system (VTS) support and a reverse gate are rotationally mounted relative to the venturi. A steering nozzle is rotationally mounted to the VTS support. A rotary actuator has an output portion operatively connected to at least one of the VTS support and the reverse gate. Rotation of the output portion between a first angle and a second angle causes a rotation of the VTS support while the reverse gate remains in a stowed position relative to the steering nozzle. Rotation of the output portion between the second angle and a third angle causes a rotation of the reverse gate between the stowed position and a second position while the VTS support remains in a fixed position. A jet propulsion system and a method of operating a jet propulsion system are also disclosed.

Jet propulsion trim and reverse system

A watercraft has a hull and a deck disposed above the hull. A ride plate is mounted below a rear portion of the hull. A jet pump assembly includes a jet pump disposed at least in part between the ride plate and the hull. A front wall is formed at least in part by the hull and disposed forwardly of the jet pump. The jet pump assembly is mounted on a top surface of the ride plate via a plurality of resilient mounts At least one sealing member forms a seal between the portion of the jet pump and the portion of the front wall. The jet pump is mounted to the watercraft only via a plurality of mounting points. The jet pump is resiliently mounted to the watercraft via each of the plurality of mounting points.

System for mounting a marine jet propulsion system

A watercraft has a hull, a deck, an engine, a steering assembly, a jet pump, a venturi, a steering nozzle, and a reverse gate pivotable between a fully stowed position and a fully lowered position. The reverse gate includes a reverse gate body having inner and outer arcuate surfaces, and reverse gate upper and lower edges. First and second side walls are connected to the sides of the reverse gate body. At least one deflector is connected to at least one of the outer arcuate surface, the first side wall, and the second side wall. The at least one deflector is spaced from the outer arcuate surface. A deflector trailing edge is disposed upwardly and rearwardly from a deflector leading edge at least when the reverse gate is in the fully lowered position. Water deflecting surfaces and turning deflectors connected to a reverse gate are also disclosed.

A watercraft drain assembly has a tubular drain body having a first end and a second end, at least one inlet opening disposed on the drain body for allowing water to enter the drain body, a first outlet opening disposed at the first end of the drain body for allowing water to exit the drain body, a drain plug for selectively plugging the first outlet opening, and a second outlet opening disposed on the drain body for allowing water to exit the drain body. A watercraft incorporating the watercraft drain assembly is also disclosed.

A closed coolant circulating system for a watercraft, for traveling along a surface of a body of water, containing a supply of coolant that is caused to flow through the coolant circulating system. The watercraft comprises a hull and an engine. The watercraft also comprises a heat exchanger formed from heat conductive material and having a fluid path defined therein with an inlet port and an outlet port. The heat exchanger has a heat exchanging exterior surface and is mounted to the hull such that the heat exchanging exterior surface constitutes a portion of the exterior surface of the hull that is normally disposed below the surface of the body of water. The heat conductive material of the heat exchanger allows the heat absorbed by the coolant to dissipate from the coolant to the body of water via the heat exchanging exterior surface as the coolant flows through the fluid path.

Fuel gauge

A liquid level sight gauge useful in the fuel tank of a recreational vehicle such as a snowmobile is molded in two parts and can be installed without special tools in simple cylindrical holes provided in the wall of the tank or container. The gauge has a tubular body communicating with projecting cylindrical spigots which are passed through sleeves of a resilient gasket which sleeves secure them in the holes of the container wall.

Liquid level sight gauge

In a snowmobile track suspension the slide frame that contacts the ground-engaging run of the track belt is carried on front and rear suspension arm assemblies. The front suspension arm assembly is pivoted to the vehicle on the axis of the sprocket drive shaft. The rear suspension arm assembly is articulated, having upper and lower sections that are rearwardly angled and pivotally interconnected and support in the region of the pivotal interconnection the idler wheel that maintains the track under tension. The arrangement eliminates stretching of the track and lengthens the track life. Furthermore the rearwardly angled arrangement of the rear suspension arm assembly allows easier backward motion of the snowmobile because the lower arm section provides an angle of attack to help the track rise above an obstacle.

Vehicle throttle lever

A throttle control lever for a vehicle, and in particular for a recreational vehicle such as a snowmobile, has a two-stage lever action. In the first stage, which includes throttle openings corresponding to normal cruising speeds of the vehicle, the throttle lever turns about a first pivot axis wherein the mechanical advantage of the manual actuating force is relatively high. In a second range the throttle lever pivots about a second pivot axis wherein the mechanical advantage of the manual actuating force is relatively much smaller. Operator fatigue is reduced because of the reduction in force required at normal cruising speeds of the vehicle.
