A glow plug includes a glow plug body (), a pressure sensor arranged inside the glow plug body (), a threaded portion () on the outside of the glow plug body () and gripping elements (), generally of cylindrical form with a hexagonal section, enabling the body () to be gripped and screwed into a corresponding tapping, the gripping elements () being made from synthetic material.

This body () has on its outer surface both a screw thread () adapted for fixing the body () into a corresponding tapping in an engine (), as well as a gripping zone (), generally of cylindrical form with a hexagonal section, enabling gripping of the body () for screwing the glow plug () into the corresponding tapping. The outer diameter of the portion of the body between the thread () and the gripping zone () is throughout its entire height of a diameter at least equal to the outer diameter of the threaded portion (). Application to internal combustion engines, in particular Diesel type engines.

The invention relates to a device which is used as a force-transmitting device (') for a pressure sensor () associated with a glow plug in an internal combustion engine and is embodied in the form of a tubular piece whose cross-section is substantially annular. The inventive device comprises an area () on which the external diameter thereof increases towards one end thereof. The front surface of the device corresponding to said flared end is embodied in the form of a bearing face receiving the piezo-electric pressure sensor. A glow plug integrating said force-transmitting device is also disclosed.

Device for acting upon a pressure sensor mounted on a flow plug

A sensor system includes a coil positioned on a thin substrate sandwiched to a layer of mumeta, a high magnetic permeability material. The mumetal acts as an amplifier for the inductance L measured at the terminals of the coil. When a magnet passes in front a sheet of mumetal, its magnetic field locally saturates the mumetal whose magnetic permeability collapses on the saturated surface. The result is a reduction of the inductance factor (L) in proportion with that area of the coil covered by the saturated mumetal. This reduction in inductance is measured at the coil terminals to provide an estimation of that area of the coil that has been covered. By determining a particular layout of the coil, mumetal, and magnet, a predetermined electrical signal of inductance or coupling variations corresponding to movement of the magnet is provided.

Inductive magnetic saturation displacement sensor

The produce comprises an electrically conductive tape cut out or etched so as to form windows from which connecting tabs for a chip project, according to the 'single-layer' T.A.B. technology. An adhesive tape is glued to the conductive tape and pierced with windows centered on and lying within the conductive tape's windows. According to the invention, apertures isolate the connecting tabs for the purpose of applying test signals to the chip by means of the tabs then carried by the adhesive tape alone. The invention is used for testing integrated power circuits.

A power electrode of the component 10 is welded onto the flush surface 15 of a radiator 13 accommodated in the base of the housing. The radiator is formed in one piece with an elongate part 14, the end 5 of which projects from the housing in the form of an external connecting pin. The radiator 13 may take various forms, including that of a grid.
