A glass sheet having a high near-IR transmission and very low visible transmission. The glass sheet is a silicate-type and has a composition that includes, in a content expressed as weight percentages, by total weight of glass: total iron (expressed as FeO) 0.02-1%, Chromium (expressed as CrO) 0.05-0.8%, Cobalt (expressed as Co) 0.03-0.175%. The glass sheet shows, intrinsically, a very low visible transmission together with a high IR transmission at wavelengths of interest (i.e. 850, 900 and 950 nm) and low amounts of Crspecies. The glass sheet is therefore valuable within the context of autonomous cars and in particular, those with fully integrating LiDAR systems.

A glass sheet of silicate-type showing intrinsically a very low visible transmission with high IR transmission at wavelengths of interest (i.e., 850, 900 and 950 nm), and low amounts of Crspecies, valuable within the context of autonomous cars, and in particular those fully integrating LiDAR systems. The glass sheet having a composition in a content expressed as weight percentages, by total weight of glass:

A silicate-type glass sheet that includes 0.002-1.1% total iron (expressed as FeO), greater than or equal to 0.005% manganese (expressed as MnO), and optionally 0-1.3% chromium (expressed as CrO). The sum of the contents of total iron, manganese, and chromium, expressed as weight percentages are greater than or equal to 1% of the total weight of the glass. The ratios R1, defined as FeO*/(49+0.43(CrO*—MnO*)), and R2, defined as FeO*/(34+0.3(CrO*—MnO*)), both being less than 1. FeO*, MnO* and CrO* represent the relative percentages with respect to the sum of (FeO+MnO+CrO). Such a glass sheet shows a very low visible transmission together with high IR transmission in the region 1000-2000 nm, especially at wavelengths of interest between 1050 and 1550 nm, thereby valuable within the context of autonomous cars, in particular those fully integrating LiDAR systems.

A glass composition with low thermal radiative conductivity at high temperature has the following components in weight percentage, expressed with respect to the total weight of the glass composition: SiO50-85%; AlO0-30%, BO0-20%; NaO 0-25%; CaO 0-25%; MgO 0-15%; KO 0-20%; BaO 0-20%; FeOtotal 0.002-0.1%. The glass also includes NiO at a level of 0.0001% to 0.0020% by weight of the total glass composition.

A glass sheet having a composition which comprises total iron (expressed in terms of FeO) from 0.002-0.06 wt %; chromium (expressed as CrO) from 3-75 ppm; and manganese (expressed as MnO) from 50-1,000 ppm. The glass sheet has a LTD4 higher than 70%. Such a glass sheet exhibits at once a high luminous transmission, an increased transmission of infrared (IR) radiation and a pleasing slight color or an almost neutral to neutral color.

The invention relates to a glass having SiO, NaO and CaO as main components, which comprises two amorphous phases having different compositions, one of the two phases being in the form of inclusions dispersed in the volume of the other phase and comprising crystalline particles. Such a glass has good mechanical strength, in particular good resistance to scratch propagation and allows improved tempering. This glass furthermore has a pleasant aesthetic appearance.

The invention relates to a glass-ceramic material having SiO, NaO and CaO as main components and comprising crystalline particles of SiOdispersed homogeneously in the volume of an amorphous matrix. Such a material has good mechanical strength, in particular good resistance to scratch propagation and allows improved tempering. This material furthermore has a pleasant aesthetic appearance.
