This invention relates to a sheet of paper made up of at least two plies of creped tissue paper, an upper ply and a lower ply, each of a surface measure ranging from 10 to 40 g/m, the upper ply being embossed and provided with first protuberances. It is characterized in that such first protuberances are divided into rows which between them delimit cells of an area ranging from 1 to 20 cm, the upper ply being longer in the direction of advance than the lower ply by at least 0.6% and joined to it by the apex of the first protuberances so that cushions are formed inside the cells.

The invention relates to an absorbent paper product, made in particular of tissue paper, that includes at least two plies, at least one of which is embossed according to an embossing pattern that includes projections () with a density of 30 or more per cm. According to the invention, the embossing patterns include at least two adjacent zones whose projections () have, respectively, a different density and/or a different surface area at the peak so as to produce a relief effect on the product.

Absorbent paper product having improved embossing

The invention concerns a method for making a sheet of paper comprising at least two crimped cotton-wool-like cellulose plies (). It consists in: unwinding a first ply () in the form of a strip from a reel, embossing it on an embossing unit () and forming protuberances at its surface, unwinding a second ply () in the form of a strip from a reel, guiding it downstream of the embossing unit (), superposing the two strips, with their protuberances facing inwards, and in applying a linking means () so as to make the two strips integral with each other. Said method is characterised in that immediately upstream of said linking means (), a tension regulating means () is applied in the machine direction on one of the strips, such that the two strips have the same elastic deformation in the machine direction when the linking means is applied. The invention also concerns a product obtained by said method.

Method for making a multiply absorbent paper sheet and resulting product

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a sheet of paper tissue which is embossed by an embossing cylinder of which the surface is fitted at least in part with embossing elements. The elements include a frustoconical base portion and a tip portion. The method is characterized in that the tip segment includes a flat of which the area is less than 75% of the smaller cross-sectional area of the base. Preferably the area of the flat is less than 20% of the base cross-sectional area. The invention furthermore concerns a sheet thusly manufactured and to sheets made of several plies of which at least one is a ply of the invention.

The sheet including at least a first and a second ply of tissue paper exhibiting a specific surface weight of between 10 and 40 g/mand being embossed and assembled in a way that the protrusions defining the embossing patterns point to the inside of the sheet and subtend cavities between them is characterized in that the first ply (F) is fitted with first frustoconical protrusions (') of which each top surface is between 0.3 and 4 mm, the second ply (F) includes second protrusions (&#x2032;) configured to be facing the first protrusions in such a manner that the first protrusions are precluded from being inserted between the second protrusions.

Embossed sheet material and method

The invention relates to a roll constituted by a plurality of tissue paper sheets each having a specific surface weight between 10 and 40 g/mand exhibiting thick zones () separated over at least 90% of their periphery by thinner zones (). According to the invention, and as regards at least the outermost turns of the roll, the thick zones are at least partly superposed one on the other in a way to add the thicknesses cumulatively and hence to create height differentials on the roll's outside. The invention also relates to a method for making a roll, wherein a strip composed of a plurality of juxtaposed tissue paper sheets exhibiting thick zones separated by thinner zones will be wound on itself. According to the invention, the winding of the roll is such that the thick zones () of the outermost roll turns are at least partly superposed in order to constitute a salient topography on the roll's outside.

Roll of tissue paper sheets, and associated manufacturing method

The invention concerns a cotton-wool-like cellulose having a basis weight of about 20 to about 80 g/m comprising, an embossed ply of 10 to 40 g/m , including raised designs consisting at least partly of discrete protuberances oriented towards the inside of the structure, and a non-embossed ply. The invention is characterised in that the embossed ply has over at least a surface portion at least 30 protuberances per cm whereof the surface is less than 1 mm , preferably less than 0.7 mm , and the basis weight of the embossed ply is less than that of the non-embossed ply. Preferably, it is less by 5 to 30%.
