Systems and methods for configuring and instructing movement of a surgical device using configuration data from previous surgeries are described herein. Robotic surgical systems described herein include robotic arms with interchangeable surgical tools. The kinematics of the robotic arms are compared against configuration data from previous procedures and differences between the kinematics and the configuration data are identified. The configuration data also includes simulations of robotic surgical systems throughout a procedure. Potential collisions or complications from present and future configurations are identified. The differences and instructions for resolving the differences and potential collisions are presented to a user for correction.

Surgical robotic system configuration

Graphical user guidance for a robotic surgical system is provided. In one embodiment, a graphical user interface for a robotic surgical system comprises a first region and a second region. The first region is used to display an endoscopic view of a surgical site inside a patient taken by an endoscopic camera of the robotic surgical system, and the second region is used to display user feedback information. The graphical user interface overlays a guidance message on top of the endoscopic view of the surgical site in the first region to provide user instructions for interacting with a user input device to engage a robotic arm of the robotic surgical system. Other embodiments are provided.

Systems and methods for segmenting surgical videos are disclosed. One example method includes receiving, by a processor of a computing device, surgical video, the surgical video comprising at least a sequence of video frames of a surgical procedure; in response to receiving an identification of a video frame, generating, by the processor, a bookmark based on the video frame; associating, by the processor, the bookmark with the video frame; and storing, by the processor, the bookmark in a non-transitory computer-readable medium.

One example method for improving the efficiency of robotic surgical procedures by integrating applications into the surgeon console user interface is presented. The method includes generating a surgeon console user interface for displaying at a surgeon console associated with a robotic surgical device during a robotic surgical procedure. The surgeon console user interface includes a main region configured for displaying a video signal of the robotic surgical procedure, a left side region for displaying data related to the surgical tools controlled by a left hand controller; and a right side region for displaying data related to the surgical tools controlled by a right hand controller. The method further includes displaying the graphical user interface on a display device of the surgeon console and integrating applications into the surgeon console user interface in response to determining that the surgeon console switches to an application mode.

One example method for improving the efficiency of robotic surgical procedures by integrating applications into the surgeon console user interface is presented. The method includes generating and displaying a first graphical user interface at a surgeon console associated with a robotic surgical device during a robotic surgical procedure, and detecting a combination of user actions through control devices of the surgeon console. The method further includes responsive to detecting the combination of the user actions, causing surgical tools of the robotic surgical device to be locked and generating and displaying a second graphical user interface at the surgeon console which includes user interfaces of applications and is configured to be interactive through the control devices. The method further includes detecting a user action to exit the application mode, causing the surgical tools to be unlocked, and updating and displaying the first graphical user interface at the surgeon console.

A system of configuring a new device may include a new device that is not configured with one or more settings. The new device includes a short range communication transmitter and programming instructions configured to cause the new device to operate in a discoverable mode. The system includes an existing device that is configured with the settings, and that includes a short range communication receiver and programming instructions. The programming instructions are configured to cause the existing device to receive instructions to set up the new device, in response to receiving the instructions, detect, by the short range communication receiver, a presence of the new device by detecting the broadcast signal within a communication range of the short range communication receiver, and in response to detecting the presence of the new device, transmit at least a portion of the one or more settings directly to the new device.

The subject technology provides for detecting, by a first computing device, a second computing device being within a predetermined distance of the first computing device, the first computing device being in a locked mode. The subject technology receives an access key from the second computing device. A first computing device provides an indication that the first computing device accepts dynamic user registration of user accounts over a wireless connection. A second computing device automatically connects to the first computing device and passes an account token to the first computing device over the wireless connection, all without physical interaction with the first computing device. The first computing device automatically contacts a remote account server to retrieve a user account associated with the account token and registers the user account with the first computing device.
