Method, transducer, and arrangement for HIFU treatment with MR temperature monitoring

In a method and device for determination of a position shift, first image data of a body region of a treatment-positioned patient that contain derivable temperature information are acquired. A focal area in the body region is determined, and the focus of a hyperthermia applicator can be aligned on the focal area. Second image data of the body region of the treatment-positioned patient that contain derivable temperature information are acquired, and a position shift of the focal area is determined by a comparison of the second image data with the first image data.

In a method and device for correction of a B0 field drift in a temperature map acquisition by magnetic resonance tomography, a fluctuation measurement is calculated per pixel from a number of magnetic resonance tomography phase images of an examination subject or from temperature maps derived therefrom. Using this fluctuation measurement, pixels of the phase images or temperature maps with low fluctuation are determined, and corresponding pixels of a phase image to be corrected or of a temperature map to be corrected are selected using the pixels determined as having low fluctuation. The phase image to be corrected or the temperature map to be corrected is adjusted to a reference phase image or a reference temperature map such that the selected pixels of the phase image to be corrected or of the temperature map to be corrected are calibrated to corresponding pixels of the reference phase image or of the reference temperature map.

Magnetic resonance tomography method and apparatus for correcting drift of the B0 field in a temperature map

A method is disclosed for the generation of a background mask from an intensity-value-coded image with a noisy background area. The method includes generating an intensity value histogram of the image; fitting a model curve to a subarea of the intensity value histogram; calculating a threshold value in the intensity value histogram from the fit parameters of the model curve; and generating the background mask starting from at least one defined image area that belongs to the background noise by adding all the pixels whose intensities are below the threshold value to the background mask when connected to the image area via pixels whose intensities are also below the threshold value.

In a method for determination of a diffusion-weighted image of an examination subject in a magnetic resonance system, a diffusion-weighted data set is acquired with magnetic diffusion gradients being activated; a diffusion-weighted image of the examination subject is calculated using this diffusion-weighted data set; dephasing or spoiler gradients are activated in order to reduce artifacts in the diffusion-weighted image due to additional signal echoes and the position and/or amplitude and/or polarity of the dephasing gradients is/are selected dependent on the diffusion gradients.
