A dielectric part is used with an electrical connector housing and a matable connector piece such as a printed circuit board. The electrical connector housing has a plurality of terminal pins secured therein with terminal pin portions extending from the electrical connector housing. The dielectric part includes a box-shaped dielectric part body that is fabricated from a stiff yet resilient dielectric material and has a plurality of dielectric part body holes sized and arranged to slidably receive the terminal pin portions. When the electrical connector housing and the matable connector piece are releasably connected together, the dielectric part body is disposed between the electrical connector housing and the matable connector piece and the terminal pin portions are slidably received in the plurality of dielectric part body holes thereby being enveloped by the dielectric part body to isolate the terminal pin portions from one another. An electrical assembly is also described.

Dielectric part and an electrical connector assembly incorporating the same

A dielectric component is fabricated from a dielectric material and includes a base panel member and a plurality of isolation panel members. The base panel member has a first base panel member surface. The plurality of isolation panel members is connected to and projects perpendicularly from the first base panel member surface. The plurality of isolation panel members are disposed apart from and extend parallel to one another to form a plurality of isolation channels. An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector housing and the dielectric component. Consecutive ones of a plurality of terminal pin portions projecting from the electrical connector housing are isolated from one another by consecutive ones of the plurality of isolation panel members such that the terminal pin portions are disposed in the isolation channels and are therefore isolated from one another. The electrical connector assembly might also incorporate a printed circuit board.

Dielectric component and an electrical connector assembly incorporating the same

A matte seal includes a seal body that extends along and about a width-wise axis. The seal body has a first surface and an opposite parallel second surface and an outer peripheral surface extending to and between the first and second surfaces. The seal body has an inner through hole surface defining a through hole extending along and about the width-wise axis and between and through the first and second surfaces. The seal body has at least one recess formed into the first surface. The at least one recess is disposed apart from and between the inner through hole surface and the outer peripheral surface. The at least one recess extends parallel to the width-wise axis and partially into the seal body.

Matte seal

An electrical connector assembly includes a housing body and a wire routing cover. The housing body having a box-shaped configuration has a plurality of terminal-receiving holes formed therethrough, a pair of rail-receiving channels formed into opposing side walls and at least one latch projection. The wire routing cover includes a base panel with a pair of rail members and at least one latch element attached to the base panel. The base panel has a plurality of wire routing holes formed therethrough. Upon releasably connecting the housing body and the wire routing cover together, respective ones of the pair of rail-receiving channels slidably receive at least a portion of the respective ones of the pair of rail members, the at least one latch projection is releasably captured by the at least one latch element and the plurality of terminal-receiving holes and the plurality of wire routing holes register with one another.

An electrical connector includes a terminal assembly, a housing body, a first rib member and a second rib member. The terminal assembly includes a terminal mounting block and at least one terminal mounted therein. The housing body surrounds the terminal assembly and is connected to the terminal mounting block. The housing body and the terminal mounting block define a cavity with the at least one terminal projecting into the cavity from the terminal mounting block. The housing body has a top wall, a bottom wall and a pair of side walls disposed apart from one another to interconnect the top and bottom walls. The first and second rib members are connected to respective ones of the pair of side walls and extend longitudinally. The first and second rib members are disposed between the top wall and the bottom wall. An electrical connector housing is also described.

Electrical connector and electrical connector housing

An electrical connector housing includes a housing body and a lever. The housing body has a base panel member, a pair of opposing side walls, a forward side wall and a rearward side wall connected to each other to form a generally box-shaped cavity. The lever has a pair of lever arms disposed apart from and extending parallel to one another and a main cross-member interconnecting the pair of lever arms to form a generally U-shaped configuration. The pair of lever arms straddle the base panel member with the pair of lever arms pivotably connected to the pair of opposing side walls for angularly moving about a pivot axis between a first position where the pair of lever arms extend generally parallel to the pair of opposing side walls and a second position where the pair of lever arms are disposed angularly relative to the pair of opposing side walls.
