A system and parts of a system that can be used to introduce fluid into a closed circuit. The system includes a valve having an inlet, an outlet, a flush inlet; a spool located in a valve body and coupled to a handle, and the spool can selectively, by the positioning of the handle, direct flow between the inlet, outlet, and flush inlet. The system also includes an uptake conduit comprising a valve connector that is configured to couple with the flush inlet, and a conduit, that is configured to allow fluid to flow therethrough. Additionally, the system has a system attachment having a system connector and a valve connector, and the uptake conduit and the system attachment are coupled to the valve.

The flexible member is at least partially located in the recess and abuts the main body; and when the air admittance valve is closed, the sealing valve body abuts the valve seat.

A bypass system for a water heat exchanger is disclosed. The water heat exchanger has a water heat exchanger inlet attached to a feed valve and a water heat exchanger outlet attached to an exit valve. The feed valve and the exit valve are three-way bypass valves attached to a bypass line. When the feed valve and the exit valve are in the flow through position, fluid will flow into and out of the water heat exchanger. When the feed valve and the exit valve are in the bypass position, fluid will not enter nor exit the water heat exchanger, but fluid will flow through the bypass line.

Disclosed are quaternary ammonium salts containing non-halogen anions such as carbonates, bicarbonates, phosphates, glycolates and mixtures thereof as conversion coatings or additives imparting anti-corrosive properties to paints. The invention relates to a method for inhibiting the corrosion of metal surfaces by applying a composition containing one or more quaternary ammonium carbonate or bicarbonate. The disclosure is also directed to anti-corrosive coatings for metal substrates containing these compounds and to metal substrates having these anticorrosive coatings.

Quaternary ammonium salts as a conversion coating or coating enhancement

The present inventors have discovered that electrolytes, such as the tetrasodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), reduce the ocular irritation and increase the disinfecting and sanitizing efficacy of compositions containing quaternary ammonium compounds and/or amines. As a result, concentrated solutions containing quaternary ammonium compounds and/or amines of the present invention have low, if any, ocular irritation. Furthermore, use dilutions of the concentrated solutions of the present invention include ingredients which are approved by the U.S. EPA for use on indirect food contact surfaces, unlike disinfecting and sanitizing compositions containing imidazoline compounds. Additionally, the use dilutions exhibit superior efficacy against gram negative and positive bacteria compared to similar compositions which do not contain the electrolyte and remain effective in hard water. The present invention is a concentrate, such as a sanitizing and disinfecting concentrate, comprising from about 0.5 to about 4.0% by weight of a quaternary ammonium compound, an amine, or a combination thereof and from about 2.0 to about 15.0% by weight of electrolyte, based upon 100% total weight of concentrate. The concentrate is generally substantially free of imidazoline compounds. Another embodiment is an ophthalmic solution comprising a quaternary ammonium compound, an amine, or a combination thereof, at least one electrolyte, and, optionally, a biologically active agent.

Antimicrobial quaternary ammonium compositions with reduced ocular irritation

The subject invention relates to a novel class of compounds, known as alkali metal salts of hydroxyalkyl sulfonates of aminoalkyl alkanol amines and/or aminoalkyl alkanol ethers, the methods of making such compounds, the alkali-stable solutions containing such compounds, and the use of said solutions as strong detergent compositions. Those alkali-stable solutions are temperature-stable, exhibit superior wetting characteristics, and can be made into low or high foam formulations useful for hard surface cleaning, oven and grill cleaning, metal cleaning, bottle washing, steam cleaning and wax stripping formulations.

The present invention relates to cleaning compositions containing one or more halogen bleaching agents and a sulfosuccinate salt. It has been unexpectedly found in accordance with the present invention that the addition of a sulfosuccinate salt to a halogen bleaching agent significantly enhances the cleaning capacity of the halogen bleaching agent compared to the cleaning capacity of either compound alone. The present invention further relates to a method of treating a contaminated surface by washing the contaminated surface with a cleaning composition containing one or more halogen bleaching agents and sulfosuccinate salts. It has been found that certain combinations of substituted imidazoline-based amphoterics and quaternary ammonium compounds show markedly reduced irritation profile in addition to providing excellent cleaning detergency. Moreover, it has further been found that certain substituted imidazoline amphoteric surfactants in combination with didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (DIDAC) show unexpected synergistic irritation reduction compared to that observed when the quaternary is an ADBAC type. This allows the formulation of disinfectants and sanitizers with the favored antimicrobial agent while at the same time affording the optimum reduction in irritation potential.
