Techniques for gamification for online social communities are described including receiving input data transferred from a client associated with an interaction on a website having one or more portions served from servers that are separate from each other, analyzing the input using a community analytic module to determine metrics associated with the interaction, the metrics having, at least, a first level, a second level, and a third level, the first level indicating a ranking associated with the input data, the second level being associated with feedback data transmitted by another client in response to the interaction, the third level being associated with generating one or more awards based on a determination generated by combining the first level and the second level, and storing metric data associated with the first level, the second level, the third level, the ranking, the feedback data, and the one or more awards.

Gamification for online social communities

A computer hosts an online community for a business entity. The community includes multiple feedback interfaces that quantify each user's engagement with the community. Each feedback interface has a distinct interaction time scale, from immediate to a year or more, with intermediate feedback interfaces. The process measures reduction in technical support costs based on the community engagement, and alerts a community manager when too many users are not completing a task for one feedback interface. The manager creates a targeted mission for the appropriate subpopulation of users. The mission specifies an action and a time limit. Completion of the action increases completion of the task. Messages are sent to users in the subpopulation to alert them of the mission. The mission feedback interface provides feedback visually for users in the subpopulation. The mission feedback includes indicators of remaining time and percent completion.

A device with one or more processors and memory receives, from a first party, an input including a sequence of numbers corresponding to a plurality of key performance indicator values associated with an entity and time range information for the sequence of numbers. In response to receiving the input, the device obtains, from a data set associated with the entity, data that corresponds to a plurality of metrics in accordance with the time range information, wherein the data set is accessible to a second party that does not have direct knowledge of the key performance indicators and determines correlations between the plurality of metrics and the sequence of numbers. The device provides, to the first party, a result indicative of a respective correlation between one or more of the metrics and the sequence of numbers.

Device, method and user interface for determining a correlation between a received sequence of numbers and data that corresponds to metrics

A computer server system provides an online community for customers of a business entity. A first level feedback module provides visual feedback to each user in a user interface for the online community, which quantifies each user's interaction with the community. A notification module sends an electronic message to a user when the user's interaction is below a predefined threshold rate. A second level feedback module calculates second level metrics that quantify other users' evaluations of postings to the online community by a first user. Visual feedback of the second level metrics is provided. A third level feedback module awards a designated achievement badge to users whose interaction metrics exceed predefined threshold values, and displays the achievement badge in the user interface. The system promotes a high level of user participation in the online community and thereby contributes to a low cost of technical support provided by the business entity.
