A transseptal catheter delivery system includes an elongate first tubular member and an elongate second tubular member receivable within the first tubular member. The first tubular member includes an adjustable portion adjacent a distal end. The second tubular member is adapted to receive an instrument to be placed in the left ventricle, and includes a curved portion adjacent its distal end in a relaxed state. The adjustable portion is deflectable toward the atrial septum to guide a puncturing tool and/or guide insertion of the second tubular member through a septal puncture into the left atrium. Within the left atrium, the curved portion is oriented toward the left ventricle to guide insertion of a guide wire, and subsequently the second tubular member, into the left ventricle. Methods of transvenously accessing a left ventricle are also provided.

Telescoping catheter delivery system for left heart endocardial device placement

Devices, systems, and techniques for transitioning between different drug delivery sources or different drug concentrations may account for diffusion and mixing of drug within the fluid. In one example, a method may include determining a flow rate for a fluid to be delivered to a patient via a drug pump and a catheter in fluid communication with a reservoir of the drug pump. The fluid includes a drug. The method also includes determining a concentration profile of the drug delivered via the catheter, wherein the concentration profile identifies a volume of delivered fluid needed to achieve a target transition dose of the drug. The method further includes determining, by a processor and based on the flow rate and the concentration profile, an initial delivery period required to achieve the target transition dose by delivering the fluid at the flow rate.

Controlling drug delivery transitions

Systems for gaining access into a body of a patient around an implanted body of an elongate medical device include a sheath having a deformable wall that allows insertion of the device body into a lumen surrounded by the sheath wall. The sheath wall may include first and second edges that extend from a proximal end to a distal end of the lumen, or just extend along a distal portion of the lumen. A tool, which includes a groove sized to grasp about a circumference of the device body, may facilitate insertion of the device body into the lumen of those sheath embodiments that include the first and second edges, by spreading at least one of the first and second edges of the wall apart from the other of the first and second edges while the device body is grasped within the tool.

Systems and methods for gaining access around an implanted medical device

Methods, devices and assemblies for anchoring implanted medical electrical leads employed in the stimulating and/or sensing of signals in tissue are disclosed. The devices include a lead anchoring clip having a central hub portion, an anchoring portion for coupling to tissue and a lead engagement mechanism that couples the clip to a medical electrical lead.

Trans-septal lead anchoring

An interventional medical device, for example, a chronic implantable medical electrical lead or drug delivery catheter, or an acute medical therapy delivery and/or diagnostic tool, such as a guide catheter, includes a label formed by laser marking a TiO-loaded silicone medical adhesive, which is primarily employed for filling and bonding in the device. A laser marking apparatus is employed to form marks of the label in the cured adhesive that forms a backfill and bond in the device.

Labeling of medical devices

An implantable medical device (IMD) can include an implantable pulse generator (IPG), such as a cardiac pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). Various portions of the IMD, such as a device body, a lead body, or a lead tip, can be provided to reduce or dissipate a current and heat induced by various external environmental factors. According to various embodiments, features can be incorporated into the lead body, the lead tip, or the IMD body to reduce the creation of an induced current, or dissipate the induced current and heat created due to an induced current in the lead.
