A valve, including: a valve seat including a seating surface with an outer edge furthest, an inner edge, and a first portion; and a valve body including a sealing surface with an outer edge, an inner edge, and a first portion. In a closed position, the first portion of the sealing surface is in contact with the first portion of the seating surface to block flow through the valve. The sealing surface tapers from the first portion of the sealing surface to the inner edge of the sealing surface or the outer edge of the sealing surface, or the seating surface tapers from the first portion of the seating surface to the inner edge of the seating surface or the outer edge of the seating surface. In the open position, the first portion of the sealing surface is free of contact with the first portion of the seating surface.

Valve body, valve seat, and valve with convex sealing surfaces

A pumping system utilizes a linear actuator to move a shaft attached to two pistons within cylinders to pump a working fluid. A housing is designed with coolant passageways and one-way valves such that movement of the shaft also pumps coolant past cooling fins and over a motor. The shaft is formed of several sections joined by couplers which slide within a bore of the housing. The couplers have a non-round shape and the bore has a complimentary non-round cross section such that rotation of the shaft is prevented.

Linear actuator pumping system

A non-conventional, low temperature, process for applying a thin electrically insulating coating arrangement with high density, high purity, minimal porosity, and improved adhesion strength to a steel bearing component is provided. The bearing component is formed from steel and machined or otherwise formed to a near net shape. A high purity aluminum is electro-chemically deposited on the steel bearing component using a non-aqueous electrolyte in an inert environment to form a high purity aluminum coating at least over a portion of the steel bearing component. A surface of the high purity aluminum coating is then converted by an acid-bath into aluminum oxide to form an insulating layer. A bearing component and a bearing having such components is also provided.

Bearing ring with insulating coating

A rolling bearing assembly has a first ring including a first race, a second ring including a second race, and a plurality of rolling elements in rolling contact with the first and second races. The rolling bearing assembly also has a sealing assembly including a first end in contact with the first ring and a second end in contact with the second ring. The sealing assembly has a shield, a sealing element, and a grounding element. The grounding element and the shield combine to provide an electrically conductive path between the first ring and the second ring. The grounding element and the sealing element combine to seal between the first ring and the second ring.

Bearing seal with integrated grounding shunt

A method of providing electrical discharge machining protection for a bearing is provided. The method includes (a) providing a bearing ring, (b) ionizing pure aluminum and depositing a pure aluminum layer on at least a portion of the bearing ring, (c) immersing the bearing ring in acid to convert the pure aluminum layer to an aluminum oxide layer, and (d) immersing the bearing ring in deionized water to seal the aluminum oxide layer.

Vapor deposition bearing coating

A bearing assembly having an inner ring, outer ring, and a plurality of rolling elements and an integrated electrically conductive element, such as an electrical shunt system manufactured of bundled or braided conductive filaments. The bearing integrated electrical shunt system consists of a fixed ring and an integrated electrically conductive element, such as bundled carbon fiber filaments, that contact a rotating ring. The integrated electrical conductive element can be integrated with the bearing seal.

Bearing with integrated shunt

A rolling bearing assembly with electrical discharge damage protection is provided. The assembly includes a seal extending radially between a radially outer bearing ring and a radially inner bearing ring. The seal includes a fixed seal end that is fixed to one of the radially inner or outer bearing rings and a flexible sealing lip that contacts the other one of the radially inner or outer bearing rings. At least one electrically conductive ring includes a first ring end that contacts one of the radially inner or outer bearing rings at the fixed seal end. The seal is integrally connected to the at least one electrically conductive ring. Electrically conductive brush filaments are fixed to the at least one electrically conductive ring, and the brush filaments contact the other one of the radially inner or outer bearing rings opposite from the fixed seal end.

Bearing seal with integrated grounding brush

A rolling bearing including a conductive shield and an insulation coating is provided. The rolling bearing assembly includes a fixable bearing ring including a first raceway and a rotatable bearing ring including a second raceway. A roller assembly includes a cage and a plurality of rolling elements are located in the cage and supported to roll on the first raceway of the fixable bearing ring and the second raceway of the rotatable bearing ring. A shield extends between the fixable bearing ring and the rotatable bearing ring. The shield includes a first end connected to the fixable bearing ring, and at least one electrically conductive element extends from a second end of the shield and contacts the rotatable bearing ring. A conductive extension on the first end of the shield is connectable to ground. The insulation coating covers surfaces of the fixable bearing ring outside of the first raceway.

Shunt bearing with insulating coating

A rolling bearing assembly with electrical discharge damage protection is provided. The rolling bearing assembly includes radially inner and outer bearing rings that each have a race. A roller assembly including a plurality of rolling elements that are supported to roll on the races is provided. A shield extends radially between the radially outer ring and the radially inner ring. The shield includes a body portion with one radial end that is fixed to one of the radially inner or outer rings, at least one electrically conductive seal on a surface of the body portion, and a plurality of filaments extending on an opposite radial end of the body portion from the fixed radial end that contacts the other of the radially inner or outer rings.
