A function module for electrical applications and method of making a function module for electrical applications. The function module includes: a functional member having a piercing area with at least one aluminum conductor trace; and an electrical connector having at least one piercing member. The at least one piercing member is configured to pierce through the at least one aluminum conductor trace in an electrically conductive manner and provide a form-fit connection between the functional member and the electrical connector within the piercing area. The functional member and the electrical connector are joined together within the piercing area by means of a solder connection.

Flat heating element

The invention relates to a heating element (), in particular for heating user contact surfaces of a passenger compartment of a vehicle, comprising a) at least one heating zone in which at least one first electrical conductor strand is disposed for heating a passenger of the automotive vehicle; b) at least one additional second conductor strand for supplying electrical energy into the at least one first conductor strand for heating the heating zone; c) a contact area in which the at least one additional second conductor strand is connected, in an electrically conductive manner, to the at least one first conductor strand for heating the heating zone; and wherein at least one of the first or second conductor strands includes at least one filament-like inner strand core comprising a polyamide, a carbon fiber, a polypropylene, or a polyester and at least one jacket layer that includes silver, copper, gold, nickel, or an alloy thereof.

The present invention relates to a heating element for heating at least one surface contacted at times by a user, with a plurality of heating conductors or heating conductor sections that are directly or indirectly connected electrically to one another, at least in part by mutual contact, with at least one heating conductor or heating conductor section which, upon exceeding a permissible maximum temperature, at least temporarily loses its electrical conductivity at least in part. It is provided that the electrical resistance of at least two heating conductors or heating conductor sections is dependent at least in part on its mechanical strain, that these heating conductors or heating conductor sections are electrically connected to one another in parallel, and that they are separated from one another at least in sections by a spacing zone in order to prevent electrical connection between them in spacing zone.

A heating element () featuring at least two electrodes () for supplying the heating element () with current, containing a multitude of heating sections () that, coating at least one part of a base surface to be heated (), are arranged between the electrodes () and are connected with them by electrical conduction. The heating element () has at least two bundles () of heating sections (), with the bundles () being arranged at a distance from one another to avoid electrical contact between the bundles.

Heating element with a plurality of heating sections

A flexible heating element for a vehicle seat or the like includes at least one flexible heating resistor element and at least two flexible supply electrodes arranged at a distance from each other and at least partly embedding the heating resistor element between them to form a layered structure. The flexible heating resistor is formed of a material having a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect. The layered structure includes a plurality of recesses formed therein defining a plurality of webs, the webs and recesses resulting in a net-like structure.

Flexible heating element

A textile heating device having a plurality of electrically conductive heating strands in contact with each other at a plurality of points of contact by way of respective contact surfaces is provided. The electrically conductive textile includes at least two strands which are fixed relative to each other at at least one point of contact such that a contact area at the fixed at least one point of contact between the contact surfaces remains essentially constant during mechanical action of the textile.

Textile heating device

A heating element comprises a heating film having an electrically nonconductive support layer and a conductive layer. The conductive layer of the present invention comprises a metallic layer or material that is deposited onto the support layer. The heating element system is suitable for integration into the seating surface or backrest surface of an automotive vehicle which may also comprise additional components such as upholstered units and sensors to facilitate the comfort of the occupant of the vehicle.

Heating element

The seat heater includes at least one electric sheet-type heating element (10) made of flexible high-resistivity material to which the main electrodes (13A, 13B) are connected. In order to minimize the time during which the seat is perceived as being cold without any notable increase in overall power requirements, the seat heater is equipped with an additional feature (18A, 18B) for heating basically at least a partial area (SH) of the sheet-type heating element (10) with increased heating density, and a switch device for changing from heating the partial area (SH) with the additional feature (18A, 18B) to overall homogeneous heating of the sheet-type heating element (10) with regular heating density through the main electrodes (13A, 13) or the main electrodes (13A, 13B) and the additional feature (18A, 18B).
