A setting device () drives fastening elements into a receiving material and includes a housing () with a piston guide () arranged in the housing () and with a hollow space () in which a setting piston () is displaceably mounted. A bolt guide () is connected to the piston guide () by an interface (). The setting device further has a piston restoring device () with an adjusting member () which engages in the piston guide () in a work position and is moved out of the piston guide () into a release position (). Further, there is a securing element (), with the adjusting member () being held in the work position () in a first position () of the securing element () and the adjusting member () being released to move into the release position () in the second position () of the securing element ().

Setting device

A setting device () for driving fastening elements into a receiving material has a housing (), with a muzzle part () which is displaceable axially relative to the housing () and is arranged with a guide channel () for a fastening element strip () and opens into a receiving space () for a fastening element () to be driven in. Further, a locking element () is arranged in the muzzle part (). The locking element () has a feeler portion () for detecting a fastening element () in the receiving space () and a locking part () for blocking the displacement of the muzzle part () relative to the housing () in a locking position () when a fastening element () is not detected in the receiving space () by the feeler portion (). A blocking member () in the muzzle part () is movable into the guide channel () so as to block the fastening element strip (). To improve a setting device () of this type, the blocking member () is in an operative connection with the locking element () so that the blocking member () can be actuated by the locking element ().

A setting tool for driving in fastening element includes a bolt guide ( ) axially displaceably arranged in the tool housing ( ), a magazine ( ) projecting sidewise from the bolt guide ( ) and displaceable in a direction opposite the setting direction ( ) against a biasing force of a first spring ( ) relative to the bolt guide ( ), a second spring located between the housing ( ) and the magazine ( ) and having a maximal biasing force acting in the setting direction ( ) and an excursion greater than a maximal biasing force and an excursion of the first spring ( ); and an annular element ( ) which surrounds the piston guide ( ) of the tool and is located in a receiving space ( ) formed in the housing ( ) for transmitting a biasing force of the second spring ( ) to at least one engagement surface ( ) provided on the magazine ( ).
