An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system for an internal combustion (IC) engine. The EGR system has a first cooler configured to cool exhaust from an exhaust system of the IC and to drain exhaust liquid formed by the cooling. The EGR system has a mixture chamber configured to mix exhaust cooled by the first cooler with intake air to form an exhaust-air mixture. The EGR system has a second cooler configured to cool the exhaust-air mixture. The EGR system has a heat exchange system for circulating and cooling coolant fluid used by the first and second coolers, and includes a split valve configured to divide coolant fluid flow between the first and second coolers. The EGR system has an engine control module configured to adjust the split valve based on comparing a temperature of the exhaust-air mixture to a determined dewpoint temperature of the exhaust-air mixture.

A fuel supply system for propane and other LPG fuels is disclosed for internal combustion engines such as spark-ignited direct-injection (SIDI) engines, with features that help manage both liquid and gaseous phases of the LPG fuel. Preferably adapted for use with replaceable fuel canisters, the ECM-managed system has a hot-soak vapor purge system as well as various sensors and valves to prevent excessive boil-off and to otherwise manage the heat and the related liquid-vapor balance of the fuel supply. Although various control strategies are contemplated in different respects, the system preferably uses an intermediate pressure vessel in which the amount of gravity-fed liquid LPG is monitored using a float sensor or the equivalent, and the system is programmed to intervene through valve controls to vent excessively hot LPG vapors from the pressure vessel directly to the engine's intake manifold as a way of managing the heat and liquid-vapor balance in the pressure vessel, accommodating the vented flow by blending the vented fuel vapors with fuel from liquid rail injectors to still produce the desired overall mass flow rate of the fuel to produce the appropriate power levels from the engine.

Two-phase LPG fuel supply

An automatic timing measurement system that provides a measure of time of passage of a watercraft through a water course. Algorithms based on inertial or other estimates augmented by GPS speed/position measurements and/or image processing techniques on images provided by one or more cameras are used to track position of a watercraft. The position estimates and image processing techniques are used to allow the locations of water courses to be mapped and memorized. Algorithms are then used to allow the system to automatically detect passage of a watercraft through mapped courses for the purpose of measuring and reporting time of passage of said watercraft past key points in said course, and for modifying the behavior of the speed control portion of the apparatus if necessary at certain points in the mapped course. A measure of accuracy of driver steering can be provided along with the ability to automatically steer the watercraft through the course if 'steer-by-wire' mechanism is available. GPS speed control is augmented with a secondary velocity measurement device that measures speed over water resulting in an optional user selectable real-time compensation for water current. Furthermore, GPS is used as the key input to produce boat speed-based pull-up profiles.

An automatic speed control system that provides desired watercraft velocity over land. The coupled algorithms correct engine speed and torque using inertia based measurements, GPS, and tachometer measurements, and the corrections are augmented and enhanced by velocity/speed and torque/speed relationships that are dynamically and adaptively programmed with real-time data collected during replicated operations of the watercraft in specified conditions.
