An example refrigerant control valve includes: a modulating plug that is linearly movable to control refrigerant flow rate from a first port to a second port; a first chamber formed at a first side of the modulating plug and fluidly coupled to the first port; a second chamber formed at a second side of the modulating plug, opposite the first side; a first flow restriction that fluidly couples the first chamber to the second chamber, and a second flow restriction that fluidly couples the second chamber to the second port.

An evaporating heat exchanger () comprises a multitude of parallel channels () extending between vertical header pipes () and forming flow passages () from the inlet chamber () and to the outlet chamber (). A venturi device () is positioned within the inlet chamber () to ensure even mass distribution of refrigerant to the flow passages ().

Evaporating heat exchanger

A service valve for a refrigerant system comprising a valve body and a system port. The valve body has at least one fluid passage integrated therein including a longitudinal bore. An orifice is located at one end of the bore. An annular protrusion axially extends from the valve body and is symmetrical about the orifice. A valve seat generally surrounds the orifice. The system port includes a valve stem having a first end, a second end, and a bore integrated within. The stem is axially movable within the annular protrusion between at least a first position in which the orifice is closed when the valve stem first end sealingly abuts the valve seat and a second position in which the orifice is open when the valve stem first end is offset from the valve seat. The valve stem is restricted from moving further away from the valve body by the annular protrusion.

Self-contained isolated port

A refrigeration capillary tube inside suction tube heat exchanger assembly, including a suction tube whose ends each have a slot with a shaped inner end portion; two braze connectors, each including a sleeve portion with the free end having a shaped recess; a capillary tube adapted to be inserted into one of the suction tube ends and therethrough until each capillary tube ends extends from a suction tube end, each capillary tube end being deformed so as to emerge from the suction tube at locations abutting the shaped inner end portions thereof; and each of the braze connectors sleeve portions engaging one of the suction tube ends, with each suction tube slot cooperating with an adjacent one of the sleeve portion shaped recesses to contact, locate and subsequently fixedly secure the deformed capillary tube portions to the suction tube. Two methods of manufacturing the assembly are also set forth.
