A hydraulic motor assembly capable of precise control having a housing, a hydraulic mounting surface located in the housing, a cylinder block rotatably disposed on the hydraulic mounting surface, a motor shaft engaged to the cylinder block and supported proximate to a first end, a plurality of cooperating gears located in the housing and rotationally engaged to a second end of the motor shaft, an output shaft rotationally engaged to the plurality of cooperating gears, a speed sensor located proximate to one of the plurality of cooperating gears, wherein the speed sensor transmits a signal indicative of the rotational speed of the one of the plurality of cooperating gears.

Hydraulic motor assembly

A modular transmission assembly is disclosed, including a bracket having separate, integrally formed pump and motor mounting areas disposed generally perpendicular to one another, a pump assembly engaged and fastened to the bracket proximate to the pump mounting area, the pump assembly having an end cap secured to a pump housing and having at least two system ports on one side of the end cap, a motor assembly engaged and fastened to the bracket proximate to the motor mounting area, the motor assembly having a front housing with at least two motor system ports and an output shaft and at least two hoses connecting the pump system ports to the motor system parts to form a hydraulic circuit.

Modular transmission assembly

A cylinder block brake for a hydrostatic transmission or transaxle is provided. A pawl and return spring are located in a housing adjacent to a motor cylinder block. The pawl has a first, biased position where it is not engaged to the motor cylinder block and a second, braking position where it is engaged to the motor cylinder block. A brake actuation shaft which engages the pawl is located in and supported, at least partially, by at least one housing member. The brake actuation shaft is retained in the housing through the interface of features on the brake actuation shaft with a housing member, the pawl and the center section. The pawl may be installed in a first position or in a second, mirrored position.

Cylinder block brake

A control mechanism for a hydraulic drive apparatus such as a transaxle having a hydraulic pump and moveable swash plate mounted in a housing including a control arm for moving the swash plate between forward and reverse positions and a unidirectional return to neutral mechanism for biasing and returning the swash plate to a neutral position when the control arm is in one of the reverse or forward positions but not from the other position.

Hydraulic apparatus with return to neutral mechanism

Dual neutral start switch configurations for preventing vehicle users from starting or activating a vehicle engine under certain circumstances and designed to be part of the control arm or return-to-neutral configuration are disclosed. These configurations may be used with pumps, transmissions or transaxles in a variety of different vehicle applications. Also disclosed is a combination neutral start switch and reverse mower blade cutoff switch.

Dual neutral start switches

A sensor for use with a transmission system, where the transmission system has a housing, an input driven by an engine and at least one rotating component, such as a shaft, located in the housing and driven by the input. The sensor is comprised of an actuator, which is inside the transmission system housing and able to detect the rotational direction of the rotating element, and a switch, which is located outside the transmission housing and is actuated by the actuator.

Transmission rotation sensor switch

A control system for a vehicle having a hydraulic drive device such as a hydrostatic transmission or integrated hydrostatic transaxle with a return to neutral feature and a brake mechanism. The system includes a pair of linkages connected to the vehicle brake pedal; one is engaged to the return to neutral arm and the other is engaged to the brake of the drive device, so that actuation of the vehicle brake pedal first causes the return to neutral feature of the drive device to engage to reduce vehicle speed and eventually to return the device to the neutral position. As the vehicle brake pedal is further actuated, the brake mechanism of the drive device is also engaged.

Control assembly for a hydraulic device

An internal filter that may be installed or removed from the outside of the housing. The internal filter may also cooperate with an inlet passage for a charge pump.

A speed adjusting mechanism for use in connection with a hydrostatic transaxle comprising a casing in which is mounted a rotating hydraulic pump in fluid communication with a rotating hydraulic motor, a moveable swash plate cooperable with the rotating pump for controlling the speed and direction of rotation of the hydraulic motor, and a trunnion arm linked to the moveable swash plate for adjusting the orientation of the swash plate. The speed adjusting mechanism includes a return arm adapted to be mounted to the casing in a fixed position indicative of a neutral position of the trunnion arm. A control arm is mounted to the trunnion arm and a pair of scissor return arms are provided which cooperate with the return arm to move the control arm to the neutral position. The control arm is adapted to be mounted to the trunnion arm in any one of a plurality of different positions and the return arm is capable of being mounted to the casing in a corresponding position such that the return arm can be aligned with the control arm to establish the neutral position.

Zero-turn transaxle with mounted return to neutral mechanism
