A rotational exercise apparatus () for strengthen and toning the human body which consists of a collapsible stationary support frame () with horizontal gripping arms () and a base plate () attached in a horizontal position to the frame. A rotatable platform () is positioned on top of the base plate and freely rotates with a pair of swiveling foot plates () mounted on the platform upper surface. During use, a person places their foot on each foot plate () and exercises by rotating and counter rotating both the platform () and the foot plates () simultaneously while maintaining balance by holding onto the gripping arms ().

Rotational exercise apparatus

An orbital resistance-adjustable sphere exercising apparatus () that is designed to allow several exercise routines to be performed through several planes and range-of-motion at selectable friction levels. The apparatus () consists of four major elements: a sphere cradle (), a sphere (), a set of three sphere friction pads () and a telescoping pole assembly (). The sphere cradle () includes a base () that has attached three sphere support frames () that are evenly spaced and that each have attached the friction pads () that interface with and support the sphere (). The sphere cradle () also includes a sphere friction adjusting rod () that when rotated clockwise the three sphere support frames () simultaneously extend inward allowing the friction applied by the three friction pads () to the sphere () to increase. Likewise, when the rod () is rotated counter-clockwise the applied friction is reduced.

Orbital resistance-adjustable sphere exercising apparatus

A method for high speed spin winding a coil on a continuous lamination core. A two piece or hinged bobbin having two flanges is placed around a leg of the transformer core and snapped together. Both flanges include an outwardly facing surface which defines a concentric groove. One flange includes passages for receiving printed circuit board terminating pins which are installed prior to winding the coil. The other flange has a circumferential gear located in its outwardly facing surface. The core with bobbin and terminating pins installed is placed into a spin winding fixture. A bobbin bearing having a bearing surface including a circumferential ridge is placed adjacent the outwardly facing surfaces of the two flanges such that the circumferential ridges are partially received within the concentric grooves of the outwardly facing surfaces of the two flanges. A wire feeder terminates the leading end of the coil wire on one of the terminating pins. A drive gear engages the circumferential gear on the flange and rotates the bobbin at high speed drawing wire from the wire feeder. The wire feeder moves back and forth between the two flanges to uniformly wind the coil wire on the bobbin. The wire feeder terminates the trailing end of the coil wire on the other terminating pin and then cut the wire off. The terminating pins are pressed further into the flange until the desired length for printed circuit board connection extends outwardly from the opposite side of the flange.

Method for high speed spin winding of a coil about a continuous

A method of assembling a three phase current transformer for printed circuit board installation. Three current transformers, each having a spin wound coil positioned about one leg of an unassembled continuous lamination core, are placed side-by-side in a transformer carrier such that two parallel core legs of the center transformer overlap the adjacent core legs of the two outside transformers and further such that printed circuit board terminal pins attached to the coils pass through stand-off sleeves formed from the transformer carrier. Rivets are placed through holes in the laminations of the overlapped core legs and in the transformer carrier thereby simultaneously riveting the three transformer cores and the transformer carrier together making a three phase transformer assembly.

Method for assembling a three-phase current transformer

A bearing for maintaining a bobbin in relative position about a transformer core leg during the winding of a coil on the bobbin. The bearing is movable along the core leg such that a bearing surface of the bearing is positioned adjacent to but not touching each of two outwardly facing surfaces of two spaced apart flanges of the bobbin. The bearing surface is highly polished to reduce friction. The bearing surface preferably includes a circumferential ridge centered about the axis of the transformer core leg on which the bobbin is positioned. The outwardly facing surfaces of the two flanges each include a concentric groove shaped to complement the circumferential ridges of the bearing surfaces. When the bearing is in position the circumferential ridges are partially received within the concentric groove such that a small gap is maintained between the bearing surfaces and the outwardly facing surfaces. The bearing surface can also include ports for exhausting low pressure air into the space between the bearing surface and the outside surface of the bobbin flange. The low pressure air cools the bearing surface and acts as a cushion between the bearing and the bobbin flanges.

A method for laminating a magnetic core of a three-phase current transformer uses a continuous length of magnetic metal material and a mandrel having first, second, third, and fourth sets of pins mounted to a mandrel plate. The second and third pin sets are located adjacent one another, adjacent the respective first and fourth pin sets, and between the first and fourth pin sets. The third and fourth pin sets are movable between a retracted position within the mandrel plate and an extended position extending from the mandrel plate. The third and fourth pin sets are first positioned in the retracted position, and a first portion of the length of magnetic material is wound about the first and second pin sets to form the first phase section of the magnetic core. After moving the third pin set to the extended position, a second portion of the length of magnetic material is wound about the first and third pin sets to form the second phase section. After moving the fourth pin set to the extended position, a third portion of the length of magnetic material is wound about the first and fourth pin sets to form the third phase section, thereby forming the magnetic core. In another lamination method, each phase section is separately formed by continuously winding a respective length of magnetic metal material about a respective rotating mandrel. The magnetic core is formed by connecting the separately laminated phase sections.

Method for assembling a current transformer

A method for manufacturing an electrical switching contactor provides a more effective electro-magnetic pulling force in a smaller sized package. The method includes forming at least two adjacent closed-loop laminated metal cores from a substantially continuous length of magnetic metal, providing a coil bobbin separated into first and second sections through a vertical axis, arranging the first and second sections about a center portion of the closed-loop laminated cores, such that the center potion includes a part of each adjacent closed-loop. A coil is wrapped around the coil bobbin, and the coil bobbin is arranged with respect to the coil to electrically insulate the coil from the adjacent closed-loop laminated cores. The laminated cores are separated into an open-loop 'E'-shaped motor section having a center leg with the coil-wound coil bobbin mounted thereon and an armature section having a set of contact surfaces for mating with contact surfaces on the motor section in response to an electro-magnetic force drawing the armature and motor sections togethers.
