A tool and method for seating an orthodontic aligner, unseating the aligner, or both. In one aspect, the tool comprises a handle portion and seating portion. The seating portion is connected to the handle portion. The seating portion comprises a rippled structure having the shape of a series of waves, the waves having a direction of propagation directed away from the handle portion. In a second aspect, a handle portion of the tool comprises a hook adjacent to a recess in the handle portion, the hook being configured to unseat an aligner. In a third aspect, the method comprises seating an aligner by holding a handle portion of the tool, positioning the seating portion between sets of teeth and repeatedly biting the seating portion. In a fourth aspect, the method comprises unseating an aligner by holding the rippled seating portion and using the hook to apply force to the aligner.

Tool for seating an orthodontic aligner and method of using same

A tagging system for carpet or flooring samples has a lower gripping arm, an upper gripping arm, and a connecting arm connecting the lower gripping arm and the upper gripping arm. The lower gripping arm and the lower gripping arm are spaced apart by the connecting arm a distance to provide a snug fit with a typical flooring samples. Disposed on the upper gripping arm is a removeable label window connector, for connecting a transparent label window holder to the upper gripping arm. The label window connector has a plurality of notches about its substantially circular rim for connecting with the label window holder. In another embodiment, the label window connector connects the gripping arms, allowing for mounting the tagger perpendicular to the flooring sample. In another embodiment, the tagger has a body plate receiving a transparent label window, and an arcuate lip for receiving a color-coded marker.

Swivel structure

A non-corrosive, small particle resistant wheel axle-bearing assembly for a free wheeling hand carry device is provided which includes a wheel, an axle spindle and an annular bearing. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the wheel includes a central bore, an inwardly facing-surface, and an outwardly facing surface. The inwardly facing surface includes a centrally disposed retainer between the wheel and the body of the device. The outwardly facing surface includes a cylindrical recess for receiving a thrust flange. The axle spindle is integral with the body of the free wheeling device and includes a plurality of longitudinal channels which terminate in slots on the device's body. The annular bearing has a flange at its outer end, a plurality of locking projections at its inner end, and an inner cylindrical wall defining a central bore and an outer bearing surface. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the bearing includes a plurality of locking ribs which run the longitudinal length of the inner cylindrical wall between the two ends, extending beyond the inner end to form the plurality of locking projections. When assembled, the wheel, axle spindle and bearing share the same axial centerline. The locking ribs of the bearing nonrotatably engage the locking channels of the axle spindle, which is centrally disposed within the wheel bore, thereby providing a nonslipping, particle resistant bearing surface.

A trocar assembly is disclosed for use in inserting a laparoscopic instrument into the abdominal cavity during surgery and includes a cylindrical member activated by intermeshing gears to expand a cylindrical member having a normally retracted outer diameter when the trocar assembly is within the abdominal cavity, to resist withdrawing movement of the assembly from the abdominal cavity.

A surgical apparatus for use in laparoscopic surgery being adaptable to provide for clipping, cutting or clamping. The device has a probe having an instrument attached to one end to be inserted in a patient. Slidably disposed over the probe is a sliding sleeve which applies force to the instrument end of the probe to effect the desired action. In one embodiment the probe may be rotatable, while in another embodiment the instrument ends are interchangeable.

Surgical apparatus

An endoscopic surgical instrument is manually manipulatable by a surgical operator. In one embodiment, the instrument provides an alignment between a hand-held grip and a housing whereby an acute angle is formed at the point of intersection of the axis of the housing and the axis of the grip. In another embodiment, the instrument provides a hand-held grip which includes a pivot portion through which the thumb of the operator is received and which may be pivoted laterally in relation to the housing. In another embodiment, the instrument provides up to complete axial rotation of the housing relative to an instrument body housed therein to permit ease of orientation of the housing and/or body during surgery.

Endoscopic surgical instrument with acute angle orientation

A sorting system in which uniquely coded garments are hung on transport carriers, also having unique identification bar codes. The garment transport carriers include a connector for removably attaching garments or garment hangers and a hook which engages the transport rails so that the carrier can be moved along the rails and throughout the sorting system. Such a hook is used with slick-type rails, screw-type conveyor rails and even channel-type rails, or a rotatable wheel may be mounted on the carrier for movement of the carrier along rails, including channel-type rails. The transport carrier bar code is read as it progresses through the sorting system and is compared with a computer data base of garment information to determine the sorting route. The garment identification is initially correlated in the computer data base before sorting with the carrier identification code. Once all garment carriers and associated garments of a lot have been identified and correlated by the computer, an algorithm is carried out for assigning a sort value to each carrier. A master distributor switch then distributes the garment carriers a first time to a plurality of sort paths based upon a least significant digit of the sort value. Second and subsequent digits of the sort value of each carrier are employed to recirculate and resort the garment carriers to the plural sort paths to complete the sorting operation with the parallel paths. The garment carriers are then sequentially released from the parallel sort paths to an exit sort path in a final serial order representative of the order of the garments desired by the customers.
