An ultrasonic flowmeter includes at least a first, a second, and a third ultrasonic transducer, and a control and evaluation unit for controlling the ultrasonic transducers and for evaluating measured signals. The flowmeter is configured such that, during operation, the first and second ultrasonic transducers are arranged on a measuring tube offset relative to one another such that a measuring path is present therebetween. The measuring path is defined by the course of the ultrasonic measuring signal during operation. The third ultrasonic transducer is arranged on the measuring tube during operation such that an additional reference path is defined, which includes the course of the Lamb wave emitted by at least one ultrasonic transmitter into the measuring tube wall. The control and evaluation unit determines the velocity of a medium flowing through the measuring tube taking into account the propagation velocity of the Lamb wave in the measuring tube wall.

An ultrasonic transducer for an ultrasonic flowmeter includes at least one electro-acoustic element, at least one housing, at least one acoustic window and at least one control unit. The electro-acoustic element is arranged within the housing on the acoustic window such that, during operation, an ultrasonic signal generated by the electro-acoustic element leaves the housing through the acoustic window. The electro-acoustic element has at least two electro-acoustic discs. The at least two electro-acoustic discs are arranged one above the other. At least one electro-acoustic disc can be excited separately, at least temporarily, by the control unit.

An ultrasonic transducer for an ultrasonic flowmeter includes: a transducer housing with an ultrasound window; a transducer element in the transducer housing that transmits ultrasonic signals onto a signal path and receives ultrasonic signals from the signal path; a control and evaluation unit that controls the transducer element and evaluates the ultrasonic signals; and a buffer element that forms at least one at least partially reflective boundary layer in the signal path. In an operating state, the transducer element transmits an ultrasonic signal that is at least partially reflected at the boundary layer of the buffer element, and the reflected signal component is received by the transducer element. The control and evaluation unit monitors the reception of the reflected signal component and, in the absence of reception of a reflected signal component, detects an error state of the ultrasonic transducer.

Ultrasonic transducer, ultrasonic flowmeter and method

A radar arrangement includes a printed circuit board (PCB), an electronic component, and an antenna. The electronic component is arranged on the PCB and is used to generate a high-frequency signal. The PCB has at least four electrically conductive layers separated from one another by at least three electrically insulating layers. A first conductive inner layer is adjacent to a first conductive outer layer, and a second conductive inner layer is adjacent to a second conductive outer layer. The electronic component is arranged on the first conductive outer layer. The antenna is formed at least partially in the second outer layer. The signal generated by the electronic component is transmitted to the antenna, which is formed at least partially in the second conductive outer layer of the PCB, through a region of the conductive inner layers and insulating inner layers of the PCB.

Radar arrangement

A radar antenna arrangement includes a plurality of transmitting elements and with a plurality of receiving elements. The transmitting elements are arranged in a transmitting arrangement and the receiving elements are arranged in a receiving arrangement, in each case in fields of a regularly hexagonally parqueted surface. An associated virtual antenna arrangement of virtual antenna elements results from the geometrical convolution of the transmitting arrangement with the receiving arrangement. High angular resolution and good alignability with good directional independence can be achieved by arranging the receiving elements in the receiving arrangement and the transmitting elements in the transmitting arrangement so that the virtual antenna elements in the virtual antenna arrangement are arranged without overlap.

Radar antenna arrangement

A method for determining the fill level of a medium involves continuous wave radar measurement and a corresponding fill level measuring device. A coded transmit signal is emitted by a transmitter, reflected at the medium, and received by a receiver as a reflection signal. The reflection signal and a signal derived from the transmit signal are subjected to a correlation analysis, and a correlation outcome results. A control and evaluation unit determines the time offset of the correlated signals with the correlation outcome, and uses it to determine the fill level of the medium. The reflection signal and the derived signal are mixed with the analog mixer into a mixer output signal that is sampled and quantized to a digital mixer output signal. The correlator has a digital integrator with which a sequence of digital mixer output signals is digitally integrated into the correlation outcome.

Method and fill level measuring device for determining the fill level of a medium by means of continuous wave radar measurement

A conductivity sensor for measuring the electrical conductivity of a liquid medium having at least a first coil, a current source and a control and evaluation unit, the current source being connected to the first coil.
